Boys, Boys, Boys

This question came to mind today: "Why do I have so many little boys?" I am a very girly girl in all ways possible. I was never a "tom boy." I do not enjoy playing outside. I really don't like being dirty and I some of my favorite activities are shopping (either at the mall or on-line) and cooking. So I ask again, why was I given so many sons, the oldest of whom is 110% boy?
This questions came to mind today because after lunch Hayden went outside to play and after a few minutes, I hear, "Mom, come see what I found." Expecting a flower or rock, I opened the front door only to be greeted by Hayden holding a toad. I was so shocked by this that I screamed (like a girl), slammed the door shut and ran into to kitchen. As soon as I calmed down and realized that it was not going to attack me or what ever I thought the toad was going to do that would cause me to have that kind of reaction, I went back to the front door and opened it just enough to see Hayden and talk to him. He was not affected by my reaction. In fact, I really don't think that he noticed because he was still talking about the toad as if I had never left. The last part of his monologue that I began to comprehend was him asking if he could sleep with the toad and that he was starting to walk into the house. This action again caused me to scream out, "NO!" and slammed the door closed. This time Hayden was a little taken back by my actions but this didn't stop him from asking if he could keep it. To answer him, I got smart and stayed well with in the safety of the house and spoke with him through the open window. I said, "Let's wait until Daddy gets home. He will help you and know what to do." Thankfully, Jeff came home in about 20 minutes and I was saved from having to deal with the yucky toad.

This is really funny! I just wrote a post on our blog today about having a boy too! I wrote it at work - clearly I was busy - and then attached pics when I got home, just posted it and was checking in on yours and there was your title "Boys, Boys, Boys" - so funny! All of your pics are so so cute - every one is getting so big! Do you care if I link to your blog from ours? Happy Mother's Day Jen! Cousin Diana :-)

Hey Jen,

I don't blame you for not wanting that cute little toad to sleep with Hayden. Maybe that little toad would like to sleep with you and Jeff though. Ya think?

Love, Mary

that's funnnnnny!

I should try that and see if it works.

I'm afraid they'd sneak it in and then I discover it in my kitchen... or my bedroom...

and then...
