My Wish List

In my blog reading the other night. One of my bloggy friend posed this question,

"What kind of things would be on your wish list if there was no money limit?"

Since my birthday is coming up this next week and Christmas is right around the corner, I thought it would be fun to make a wish list, a wish list in which I dream BIG!

Here is my Wish List:

1. A New Minivan

A 2010 Honda Odyssey to be exact.
I have to drive a minivan and the one that we have is fine but it is just a plain Jane van. It has no spark or sassiness and it is totally lacking is sex appeal.
So since I have to drive a minivan, which I never wanted to do, I feel that I should get to drive one that is sleek and cool and just oozes with sex appeal.

2. Jewelery
More specifically, I would like to have some jewelery from
Tiffany & Co.
I am not picky, anything really would be fine.

3. Plastic Surgery

Not just any plastic surgery, I would like a 'Mommy Make-over'. You know, I would like my breast put back where they used to be and my tummy scalped and shaped to look, well like hers.

4. A Boat

Well, not just any boat but a fully staffed luxury yacht where I could spend the summer (and fall and winter and spring), sailing all over the world.
Stopping in exotic ports, wining and dining on gourmet foods, and having all my whims catered to at a moments notice.

5. Money

I would like to have enough money to not have to worry about money for the rest of my life. I don't really know what the amount of that would be but just enough. Not too much to change me but just enough to take care of my family.

So there, my top five wishes. I don't think that its too much to ask for. And if you would like to help me out with getting any of these, please let me know.

How about you?

"What kind of things would be on your wish list if there was no money limit?"

And if you want to see some real gifts that make me happy,

Want to get to Know Me Better?

Isabel Princess from Mommy's in the Bathroom did this meme earlier in the week and she tagged me for it. I guess she wanted to get to know me a little better.

What are you wearing today? Grey capi's and a purple tank top. It is finally warm enough to do that.

What’s for dinner? I have no idea. Hopefully, the pizza place will help with that.

What would you eat for your last meal? Everything that I could possibly could eat and then I would vomit and eat some more.

What are you listening to right now? The whrrr of the washer and dryer and my husband yawning while playing Wow.

If you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go? The Food Network kitchens to eat my heart out.

Which language do you want to learn? Vietnamese so that I would know what they are saying when I got a pedicure.

What do you love most about where you currently live? The view outside our windows.

What style is your current home decorated in? Kid. There is picture of my children and their art work all over the place.

If you were a time traveler what era would you live in? Don't want to be a time traveler. I think this day and age right now.

What is your favorite color? Purple, hence the color of the shirt from the first question.

What is your favorite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe? I love clothes, especially the ones that fit just right and make you look, Oh So Hot! I just got some new things and I really, really like them. They are a little bit trendy but also functional. I love the fact that my kids are getting older now and I have graduated from the over-sized, vomited stained shirts and shorts. Don't get me wrong, I still wear those things, well not the vomit shirts, I threw those out. But now I have more time to actually look cute and feel good about myself.

What were you doing ten years ago? In college and cause its the weekend, I was mostly likely working at the hospital trying to make money to pay for nursing school. Or I would have been hanging out with Jeff.

If you had $300 now, what would you spend it on? Put it towards a new laptop or a pool.

What are you going to do after this? Go swimming at my brother's house.

What are your favorite films? Dirty Dancing, Gone in 60 Seconds, and Gone with the Wind.

Your favorite books? The Stephanie Plum series.

Do you collect anything? No, just my children.

What makes you follow a blog? If I can relate to the author. If it touches me somehow by making me laugh, making me think or inspires me. If I like the writing style.

What was the most enjoyable thing you did today? Sleeping

What makes you comment on a blog? I like to get comments so I just assume that other people like them too so if I want them, then go got to give a little to get alittle. I also like to share my opinion. Its the one place that people really can't shush me or interrupt me.

What is your favorite thing to do when you have some free time? Blog, Online shop, watch TV, read, chat with friends or cook.

Would you home school your kids? NO!

What is a talent you wished you had? I wish that I was a crafty person. I wish that I was able to come up with cool craft projects for my kids to do.

If you could be any other animal other then Human, what would you be? A cat. They get to lounge around and sleep all day.

By 2042, white people will be the minority. Do you believe that? Would that be a big deal to you? I certainly believe this and really it is not a big deal to me. The world is a colorful place, lets me more of that rainbow.

Would you want your blog to be as popular as Dooce? What would be some of the pros and cons? If I wanted my blog to be my profession and make money off of it, then yes I would want it to be a big as hers. But since I just want this to be my hobby and something that I love to do, I want it to be well liked. And if that means that I have 200 readers or 1000 readers than that is good for me. I think that if your blog becomes too big and thousands and thousands of people read it then you loose your connections with people and for me that is what blogging really is all about.

There you have it. If you feel like answering question, then consider yourself tagged.

Oh and one more thing, Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad. We love you, very, very much!!! Wishing you many, many more years of happiness.

You Asked and I Answered part 3

Here we go another and possibly the final installment of Q &A. Here is part one, and here is part two. In case you missed them.
Alright then, on with the fun. This set of question required some thought and reflections. I am putting a lot things out there, so be gentle people.
Warning: its kinda long. So get some snacks and enjoy.

Do your triplets seem to communicate with each other in a different way than other kids? (asked by scargosun)

My first response to this question was no. But I took some time an actually watched them play and interact with each other. They do seem to communicate with each other. They are very good at fighting with each other, that is for sure. While watching them, I discovered that Claire is like a little mother. She will call after the boys when they toddle away but she is also very good at playing the victim. Every time some takes a toy from her, she has a huge fit.
While they are playing together, they seem to be more vocal than other kids. They are always babbling something to each other. And they seem to understand each other. Who knows maybe it is a special multiples language.

How did you meet your Honey? (asked by Karen)

Jeff and I met through a friend of a friend. The story goes like this. My cousin, who is my best friend in the world, made a call to some of her friends and found out that they were all going to this concert at the Reptile Club. I was very naive and had no idea what was going on, so I was like sure, I'll go.

So most of you can probably guess what kinda of concert was at the reptile club; hard rock (you know "angry music" where the singer just yells into the mic) with a mosh pit. I had been introduced to Jeff earlier in the night and honestly never gave him a second thought. He was not my type; short, blond, blue eyes. No I went for the tall, dark and handsome, or so I thought.

But through out the night, he kept showing up every where I was. At first, I was very annoyed. But after he "saved" me from the middle of the mosh pit, I actually gave him some of my attention.

See, I had also met another boy that night, Sean. He was Jeff's friend and I thought that he was gorgeous. Totally my type, tall, dark and handsome. I wanted him to get to know him better. But Sean was to busy trying to get the attention of my cousin. This is a good thing because they ended up getting married, moving to Vegas and having a baby. See, life always works out.

Back to Jeff and me. So after the concert, we went back to this guy's house. It was late and I was getting tired and wanted to leave. But my cousin was my ride and she wanted to stay so I was stuck.

I laid down on the couch and tried to sleep until she was ready to go. I guess that I looked cold because Jeff brought over his coat and covered me up. Then he went down to the end of the couch and began to give me a foot rub.

From that moment on, it was all over. I was smitten. Unfortunately, shortly after my foot rub began, my cousin decided it was time to go. It all happen so fast that I forgot to get his number or give him mine. I was so sad. I really, really wanted to see him again. But a couple days later, I asked my cousin to ask Sean if he could get Jeff's phone number. It worked!

I ended up calling him the day before Valentine's day (2-13-1997). We talked for 2 hours and at the end of the conversation, he asked me out to a dinner and a movie. We ate at Boston Market and saw Scream (I know, I know but time was short. I did have a curfew. I was only 17 when we first met).

What are you most self conscious of? I only ask because you don't seem very self conscious at all - I mean you always seem very sure and confident in yourself and your decisions and who you are as a person and I have just always admired that about you. (asked by Diana)

First, I just want to say Thank you. That is such a nice thing to say. Second, this question has required some thought. I really was not sure how to answer it or if I was going to answer it at all.

To properly answer this question, I have to take you back to high school. *sigh* High school. This was not a good time in my life. You could not pay me enough money to go back. I am so glad that it is over.

You see, I went to a smallish high school. I was a very shy, overweight and awkward girl. I was not popular but I for some reason my "supposed" best friends were some of the popular girls. Most people did not know who I was. I was the girl that hung out with Mindy and Sindy (not real names. I don't know who really read this).

I was not into sports. I was not the best singer (or so I was told). I was not the right body type to get into the plays and drama club. I was on the debate team until Sindy total me that it wasn't a cool thing to do. I was plain Jen and boys never gave me the time of day.

But then one day around the age of 16, I got a job at a local restaurant. I wanted a car and my parents provided, one with the stipulation that I work to pay it off. So I did.

At this job, I met a boy. Now a first I had a total crush on this boy but our relationship turned into an amazing friendship (which we later ruin by going to far physically but that is another story). He like me for me. He listened to me and cared about my opinion. He laughed at my jokes. But most importantly, he made me feel worth something on my own. I was special for being me and not because of who my friends were or what I was interested in. This was when my self confidence first started to grow.

Over the course of that summer, I began to dread the start of school more and more and more. Until I just couldn't stand the thought of going back there. (First you must know, I believe that I have been blessed with the gift of wisdom. With some soul searching and prayer, I can usually find my way out of a problem) So I sat my parents down and told them that I was not going back to smallish school but instead I was going to attend large high school. My Dad was shocked and almost fell over.

After much talking and tears, they were on board. Next, I had to tell my friends. Sindy, I thought, was my one true friend. I thought that she really knew me. But it turns out, she did not. She could not understand why I was doing this? What would people think of her, how would it make her look? I tried to explain that it was not about her. It was about me. She said that she understood and that we could still be friends. That was the last time I ever spoke with her. She never called and never returned my phones. I was deeply, oh so deeply, hurt by her. I still carry the scar on my heart.

So that fall at the beginning of my Junior year, I started school at large high school. It was the most terrifying thing that I have ever done in my life. But at the same time the best thing that I could have done. I blossomed at that school. My senior year, I was editor of the school paper. I went to state in a vocal competition. I found that the study of the human body and nursing was my life's calling.

I did not meet/make a ton of friends but that is not what I was looking for (I have always had/wanted a few close best friends). At a very young age, I found myself! I learned who I was. I survived the biggest change in my life and became a better person. That is were all my self confidence comes from, knowing myself.
I believe that I would not be the person I am today, if I had not changed schools. It was painful but so well worth.

So to answer the question, no really. There is nothing that I am self conscious about. I mean, I feel a I could loose a few pounds, I deep down care what people think of me, I want to make people happy and so on. But I was so self conscious earlier in my life and it controlled my life that I will never go back to that place again. I can honestly say, I know who I am. I like myself and I am proud of the person that I have grown up to be. This is the best confidence booster around.

There you have it. A look into me. I hope and did not mean to offend any one but this is just how I can to be. I guess the statement be careful what you ask for come into mind.

You Asked and I Answered part 2

Thank you so much for all the questions about me. There are quiet a few so I am going to separate them into a couple of posts. So if yours was not answered here it will be soon, I promise. You all asked some good ones that I actually had to put some thought into it. Now on to the Q & A.

Will you have more kids?
NO! I am fixed (tubes tied), there will be no more kids coming from my womb unless its by some miracle of God.

If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
I would be a dolphin. I love the water and I think it would be awesome to swim around all day.

What do you love most about your husband?
His sense of humor, he always makes he laugh and the way that he loves me so fiercely.

Would you pose for playboy for a million dollars?
Sure why not, but I don't think that it would be their best selling issue.

Would you like to adopt a Greyhound?
Nope, never. We are not dog people

What do you miss most about life before kids?
How spontaneous we could be. If we wanted to go out to dinner or on a trip, we did. No pre-planning involved and no van full of stuff to take along.

What do you love most about where you are now in your life?
That I am happy and I would not change any of it for the world.

What is you biggest pet peeve regarding children?
How every time they eat, half of the meal seems to end up on the floor. Every. single. meal.

Could you beat your husband in a foot race?
No.

Will you videotape a foot race so we can all watch?
Maybe, it would depend on how much falling was involved on my part. I am very clumsy.

Do you think you will live in the home you are currently in for the rest of your lives? If not, where would you like to live next?
Yes, we built this home 3 years ago. It is our dream house and we will be here until we are no longer able. My grandkids will come and visit me here, God willing But if I win the lottery, I will most likely move or buy some more houses in fancy places.

If you had to eat one food everyday for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I have to just choose one, nope couldn't do it.

Would you eat a cockroach for 50 grand?
Not a chance! I usually vomit a little when I watch people on those shows do that.

Do you like to dance?
Sober, no but after a few drinks, I love to dance. I know that I think that I am a lot better and sexier than I really am. It is not a pretty sight, I have seem videos.

If your husbands dieing wish was that you do an interpretive dance to Amazing Grace at his funeral, would you do it?
There would have to be a really good reason that he wanted me to do this besides his dying wish. I am sorry but he is dead, what does he care. Now if he asked for it privately before he died, yes.

Most embarrassing thing you've done in your line of work?
We were in a code situation, it was late and at the end of my 12 hour shift. I was yelling (first should not have been yelling) for some one to get me some etomidate (sedative used to put people on a ventilator). I was really getting pissed off because every one was just looking at me and not helping. Then it hit me, I was screaming for the wrong drug. I wanted integrilin (blood thinner) not etomidate. The patient was not on a vent and etomidate could have killed him. The doctors were just looking at me, confused. I had to leave the room. I have never felt so embarrassed and stupid in all my life.

What the Grossest thing you have done?
Dis-impact some one. For those who don't know what that is, its when you take your finger, put it into some one's rectum and pull out all the poop. Its a treatment for extreme constipation.

Most rewarding?
Helping a family comes to terms with the fact that their loved one is not going to recover and then helping that person die with dignity, pain free and surrounded by the people they love and care about.

Most surprising? (ie didn't know THAT was part of the job description!)
Being asked to either hold a man's penis so that he can pee or being asked to scratch a mans ball. The latter is definitely NOT in my job description, I can make a case for the first.

Will you share the recipe for your favorite Italian dish?
Sure. It is oh so yummy. Enjoy.

Baked Rigatoni with Bechamel Sause and Procciutto
based upon recipe by Giada deLaurentiis
1 stick unsalted butter (4 ounces)
1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 quart half and half
Pinch fresh nutmeg
salt and white pepper to taste
1 cup grated fontina or fontella cheese
1/2 pound thinly sliced prosciutto, julienned
1 pound dry rigatoni
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, diced

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Bechamel sauce:
In a 2 quart saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk until smooth, about 2 minutes. Always stirring, gradually add the milk and continue to whisk until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Simmer until it is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon. This will take approximately 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in nutmeg, cheese, prosciutto and season with salt and pepper. Set aside.

In a large pot, bring to a boil 6 quarts of salted water (Start pot at the same time you start the sauce). Add the rigatoni and cook for about 5 minutes. Since you will be cooking the pasta a second time in the oven, you want to make sure the inside is still hard. Drain in a colander. Return pasta to the pot and pour in bechamel sauce. Using a wooden spoon, mix well until all the pasta is coated with the sauce.

Into a greased 13 by 9-inch baking dish, pour the pasta with cream sauce. Bake in oven for 30 minutes.

Thats all for now. More to come.

The Ideas Are Flowin' and Some Q & A

Thank you all so much for all the encouragement and well wishes. I am feeling much more like myself this morning (NV, you were right, I need to stop being to hard on myself) Amazing what some sleep and a little "play time" with Jeff can do.
Anyway, as I slept different post ideas came to me and I have some in the works that I will be posting soon. But my favorite idea came from Bridget at Equilibrium; a little session of question and answer.
I know that other have done this and I always like it so now it is my turn in the "hot seat". Here is your chance to ask me a question, maybe if you are a lurker or don't comment very often this could be your chance. Come out of the wood work and ask me, anything you want to know(with in reason, of course I know, I know no fun but ask anyway, maybe I will answer).
I am going to start with what Bridget asked me.

What are you afraid of?
The normal mom stuff like loosing my kids, some one taking them, my marriage failing, thunderstorms, snakes, large dogs

What makes you laugh?
My kids, every single day , my husband, blogs, silly stupid jokes

What is your hidden talent?
My hidden talents are not really blog appropriate. This is a family blog after all. ;)

Where is the most exotic place you've been?
Hawaii and our honeymoon was a cruise to the Caribbean and Mexico

What is your favorite meal to eat?
Eggplant Parmesan, Calamari, Scallops, Gnocchi, basically anything Italian if you hadn't already guessed and anything that I did not have to cook.

What is your favorite meal to cook?
I bet that you couldn't guess but it is something Italian. Sometimes I feel that I was born into the wrong heritage. I should have been Italian. It is Rigatoni in Bichamel sauce with Prosciutto. It makes me crave it just thinking about it.

Why do you blog?
To help me member things that happened in our lives, for myself; it is a huge stress relief, to make people smile and to share our story in hopes of helping some one else.

Ok, so that is a start. Bring it on people, I am ready and an open book.
