This morning I was laying in bed, enjoying the fact that Hayden slept in (you must know that this means he got up at 6:45am instead of 6:30am). When Hayden did get up, Jeff put on the usual cartoons on for him and I went back to bed. The babies were quietly sleeping and I was thinking that I would get maybe another 20 or 30 minutes of sleep. I know that this doesn't seem like a long time but in my world its huge.
I was just about to drift back to sleep when the bathroom light turns on and I hear the water running. I thought, ok Hayden is playing with water and I have about 10 minutes before it becomes a mess and I need to stop him. Much to my dislike, I hear "Mommy come quick, I need your help! Mommy, come here now!"
So I get out of bed, slowly thinking Hayden is just being overly dramatic again, and walk into the bathroom. What I find just about makes me cry. I found a little boy covered reddish brown stuff; face, hands, clothes, and everything he just touched. He states, "I can't get it off."
I have no idea what this is. At first I thought it was chocolate but it did not come off with water. So I walk out to the living room and find my lip gloss. Then I know, Hayden put my lip gloss all over his face but wait the cover is still on and the stuff on his face is not shinny. I then look at my purse. It too is covered in the reddish brown stuff. It hits me, my favorite lip stick. Needless to say, I was now up and I spent the better half of the next 30 minutes trying to clean up. Thank goodness for my automatic coffee maker.
I guess thats what I get for trying to squeeze in a couple more minutes of sleep and for not hanging my purse on the hook. Also, for all those other moms out there, soap and water removes lip stick from a leather purse and a little boy (with lots of elbow grease).
