Sick Day

Yesterday afternoon, when Hayden woke up from his nap, he came down screaming that his ear hurt. I picked him up and felt that he was burning up. Jeff and I looked at each other and our look said, oh no not another ear infection. I then proceed to medicate him with motrin and ear drops and then got him settled on the couch to rest and watch a movie. I then continued to make my banana bread.
A few minutes later, he came into the kitchen saying that his tummy hurt. I didn't think much of this because complaining of a tummy ache it a common occurrence with him (it usually means he is hungry). But this time I should have given it more attention because not soon after the words were out of his mouth he erupted like a very mean and angry volcano. I was kinda stunned and didn't know what to do. He stopped so I sat him on the table (instead of moving his to the bathroom, nice move) and then round two occurred. By this time the babies were interested and started moving towards the kitchen. Thank goodness Jeff was home because he began the job of stopping three very strong willed crawlers. Anyway, when round two stopped I finally got my wits about me and a grabbed Hayden a bucket to await round three. After he added a little to the bucket, he looked up at me with tear filled eyes and said in this small pathetic voice, "Mama, I guess I am sick." Standing amidst the vomit and three screaming babies, all I could do was take him in my arms and hug him.
