American Idol

I am a HUGE American Idol fan and I have been since the show began. Some years have been better then others. My favorite season was season 5 when Carrie Underwood won. This season has been GREAT so far. I have been very excited about it and have religiously watched and voted. Sure at times the show can be very annoying but I still love it and most likely always will.
But tonight, I have one question; What in the world was America thinking? I don't understand how Carly Smithson could get voted off. In my opinion, she one of the greatest singers and a great performer. How could America get it so wrong? I really don't know if I can keep going, I might have to stop watching the show (Not really).
My only saving grace is that this season, I have an ipod and can visit itunes. At the itunes store, you can buy the singles of the songs that are sung on the show. Oh yes, I have been there multiple times and have purchased many of Carly's songs. Even now I am listening to her, remembering all her great times. Don't know if I can hold the tears back much longer so I better get to bed so that I don't get the key board wet.

Seriously, do you remember the last Marshall Christmas party where everyone avoided the gift they thought was a gag Ruben Studdard cd?

Jen I'm not quite the Idol fan that you are, but I do know the singer whose demise you lament. I wondered if you are familiar with Gretchen Wilson? This girl reminds me of Gretchen, with her gutsy, brassy approach. How could they let the "start and stop" girl continue?

Jen,

I've only watched like two, maybe three episodes of Idol, and Carley has been my favorite too, but don't telling anyone (especially Jeff, he might beat me up for writing this)
