Bathroom Antics, Silly Noises and Other Random Stuff

After church one morning, we took the kids out to breakfast. Rather than eating their pancakes and syrup, the little kids decided to paint themselves with it.

Wet wipes were not going to cover it, we needed soap and water. I found the bathroom, opened the door, pushed the kids got the kids ready to wash their hands when I realized that we were not alone.

It was occupied by a man.

I only realized this when Jake walked up to the man, pointed to his pee stream and asked, "What's that, momma?"

******

I don't know what it is about Hayden but ever since he turned 5, everything he does must be done with a silly noise. He walks into the room saying, "wawawawawawa." He sits and watches TV while saying, "sqeeksqeeksqueeksqueek." He rides in the car and says, "shwashwashwashwa." I don't understand the reason behind all these noises. But I do know that they need to end!

******

It is always my goal to take a shower every day. Most days I accomplish this goal. I put a movie on for the kids and quickly take my shower. Now every once in a while, the kids will come into the bathroom but not very often because I have tried to ingrain in them that I only want to be bothered if there is blood.

One morning there were many, many interruptions. I had had it. I just wanted to be left alone for 10 minutes to take my shower. I was just about to step in when I heard Hayden running into my room, "Mom. Mom. Mom. I need you."

"Hayden," I yelled, "What is it? I just want to take a shower. Why are you bothering me? I don't see anyone bleeding."

I continued ranting and raving for another few seconds and when I finally, let Hayden get a word in he said,

"But mom, Quinn is bleeding. He fell off the chair."

And sure enough, there came a crying, bloody lipped Quinn.

******

Jake had a great love for rockets. He can make just about anything into a rocket ship. He has two rockets that he takes with him everywhere. So when we were at the mall the other day and I saw a little rocket that gave rides, I thought Jake would love it.

I fished out a couple quarters from my purse, set him in the rocket, told him he was about to go on a rocket ride, put the money in the slot and stood back to watch a great mommy moment were I just made of my kids extremely happy.

As the rocket started to move and I got a goofy grin on my face, Jake got a look of horror on his face. He began to panic and scrambled out of that rocket as fast as his little legs could carry him.

I guess he only likes the still variety of rockets.

*****

I have come to the conclusion that diapers are not my friends. I don't know if it is the amount that we use that has caused them to be angry but for some reason all of the diapers I put my children in leak. I don't know if my kids are power pee'ers or what but these diapers just don't hold things in anymore.

I guess that means its time to potty train. Either that or try and new brand of diapers. Yeah, that is what I think I will do because potty training my three 2 year olds scares me.

This Drives Me Crazy and Other Random Thoughts

It is time once again for me to let the Blog Farts fly. So here we go well, I clear my mind and stink up the blogoshpere.

******

I have been thinking about changing my url. I want to be become a big girl blog with a dot com address. I have been thinking about this for a very long time. I have talked to a lot of people about it and they say that it is no big deal. It is a smooth transitions that most people don't even notice but I am scared. I don't want to loose all my readers and friends. If I do switch and if things go wrong, will you all promise to come and find me?

******

This

and this

drives me absolutely nuts.
I mean, is it really hard to see that they are upside down?
Sometimes, I have been known to switch them.
Come one people, put them away the right way.

******

Claire has really been into playing in her little kitchen. She is always telling me that she is making dinner. I keep wondering when I will be able to really let her make dinner. Because as much I like to cook, I would like to turn the reins over to her on some days.

******

We have been having some early morning adventures, like 5AM early, lately. Jake has taken to getting up this early and he is now tall enough to turn on all the light switches through out the house. So when I get up and after I get blinded by all the light, I take him back to bed. I tell him it is still night night time. Does he listen and go back to sleep?
No. That would be to easy. What he does do is turn the lights on in his room which is also Quinn and Claire's room and wake them up. So I end up with all three of them awake before 6AM. It is not good.
Oh and he has alos taken to stripping, including his diaper and hiding them. I still have not found a couple.

******

Speaking of Jake, he really loves the pumpkins that we carved. He goes outside and he will sit by them and talk to them and he takes them for a walk. Well on one of these walks, he thought it would be a good idea to throw one down the street. And we live on the top of a hill. So there was one of our pumpkins rolling down the street with me chasing after it. It was awesome. But don't worry, the pumpkin is safe. I got to it before it was harmed.

******

This is my poor sweet Hayden. He is sick with the flu for the very first time.
I am doing everything possible to make him feel better.
But seeing him like this really makes me want my mom.
I remember being little and being sick with the flu
and there was nothing like just being with my Mommy.
There was just something about being in her arms that made me
feel all better.
I want my Mommy.

Letting the Blog Farts Fly

I am so sick and tired of making food for my kids, um, that doesn't sound right, let me restate that. I am so sick and tired of making breakfast for my kids. Each and every morning, they come down, I get a cup of coffee and we start the breakfast dance.

I ask them what they want and they tell me. I ask again and again. I ask as many times as it takes to get the same answer a couple of times. Usually this means that they have settled on what they want.

So I go about the business of make it. When it is finished, I call every one to the table, set the plates in front of them and they cry. They scream and cry and push the plates away, refusing to eat it. It sucks and if they keep it up, there will be no more breakfast. I am done. They can wait until lunch.

**********

My normal everyday beverage of choice is water. I am a water drinking fool. I have a cup that holds 32 oz of liquid and on average, I can drink about 4 cups full. There is no real reason, I just like sipping on water. Now don't get me wrong, I drink other stuff, coffee, soda, tea, wine but mostly I just drink water.

But I have come to realize that yes, this is really, really good for me and yes, I may be extending my life but the extra time I am adding is being spent in the bathroom.

**********

Jake, Quinn and Claire can now unzip zippers. And since it has been getting colder here and their jammies have zippers, I constantly find them awaking up with out clothes on. Which isn't really bad except for the fact that they are cold. But I am worried that their diapers will be next and I don't want to wake up to three completely naked, diaper-less children running through the house. I had that happen once and it was not good.

**********

I wanted to update you all who know and those who don't know about my mother-in-law. During the middle of September there was a tumor found on the out side of Jeff's mom's liver and in her gall bladder ducts.

The only real treatment for this tumor is surgery to try and remove it. Well, she had this surgery last week and I am here to report that she is doing well. Well, as well as can be expected for a person who had their abdomen opened up and had someone playing around in there for 9 hours. Her recovery is going well. She will get back to her old self once again, it is just going to take time.

So thank you to everyone who kept our family in your thoughts and prayers. It really means a lot. She has a ways to go but for the most part, the worst is over.

A friend of mine sent me this video and it brought me comfort so I thought I would share it with you.

**********

Lately, Jake, Quinn and Claire have been getting in these terrible physical fights about who's Mommy I am. One of them will come up to me and say, "My Mommy" and someone over hears it and gets in their face and says, "No, My Mommy!" and back and forth it goes. There have been times that it can get physical and they push each other down.

I really don't know what to do about this. They just don't get that I am everyone's Mommy. I guess next time I am going to try and say that I am no one's Mommy.

**********

Here is Jake. I am hoping that this is not going to be his career choice.

I just don't know how I would feel about being a Mommy to a Chippendale Dancer.

Can Someone Please Pass the Tums? I'm Letting Things Rip. *Edited*

For this episode of blog farts, I am going to start with something a little sad. I learned earlier this week that one of my favorite bloggers is done. She just deleted her whole blog, never to enter the blog world again. Now this person was going through a very difficult time in her life, she turned to her blog to vent and get support but what she got was hating and nasty comments. This is just appalling to me.

A blog is a personal thing. It is a place for a person to write things, sometimes deep emotional troubling things. Why do people have to go and say hurtful things to a person who just needs to pour out her feelings and thoughts? I just don't get this. What ever happened to the rule, if you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything at all?

Now I am not saying that we have to agree with everyone and everything that people put out there but I don't think that you have beat someone up or belittle them during an already difficult time.

It is just not right. Where is your sense of compassion? We need to build each other up and put someone down who is already down pretty low.

*Edited* I just wanted to add that, I realize that blogging is a public. That once you hit publish, you are opening yourself up to others and the good, the bad and the ugly things that they might say or think. But I don't think that gives a person the right to lay into that person. Life is hard and we should be able to put our thoughts and feeling out there without fear of being ridiculed. It is not all 'sunshine and unicorns' and if that is all you blog about then you are not being real and I don't want to read it.

******

Alright, enough on that. Maybe that was more than a blog fart but I needed to say it. Now onto the funny/cute stuff.

I just love this photo.
I love how just Hayden in is focus.
I love the look on his face, shy and sweet but full of life.

******

The kids were at my sister's house this afternoon and when I pulled up to get them, I saw the most peculiar thing. Hayden was walking across her yard with a kitty in a fishing net. I stopped dead in my tracts and stared at this little kitty wiggling and wriggling in this net and my son just walking around with it like it was perfectly normal.

"Hayden? What are you doing?" I asked.
"Mom, I am just taking this kitty back home," he replied.
"In a net?" I said, dumbfounded by this whole scene.
"Yeah, this was the only way to catch her. Now quick go inside, its raining and the pizza is getting wet," he said.
"Oh, yeah," was my reply and I walked into the house and left Hayden to return to getting the kitty home still confused.
And then I realized, I just took orders from my 4 year old son.
Confusion will make you do strange things.

******

Jeff was a good to me this anniversary.
Look at my awesome flowers.
I would show you the chocolate but its all gone.

******

Our latest choice of music while riding in the car had been 'Boom Boom Pow' by the Black Eyed Peas. Hayden just LOVES this song. He breaks out this his little getto boy seat dance when ever it comes on. I too love a good car seat dance, so I turn up the music and we all jam out.

On this particular night, Hayden kept asking me to turn it up, I would but he kept wanting it louder and louder. I realized it was because I had the speakers in the back of the van turned off. So I switch them back on so that the music could surround us.

Well, just as I did this I happened to look in my rear view mirror at Jake. As the music pumped through the van, his little eyes were as wide as saucers and he had this look of terror on his face. He kept looking from side to side try to figure out where the 'noise' was coming from.

The whole scene was just too funny. I almost peed myself from laughing so hard. And well, laughter is contagious so pretty soon the kids were laughing. Let me just say it was a great ride home.

Riding the Train to Crazy Town

I need to get some things off my chest. So I am going to start this rendition of my Blog Farts with some complaining and a little b*tching.

******

I am really starting to wondering if I am going to be able to survive my triplets being two. One moment I want to slap them silly because they will not listen to me, they do the opposite of what I ask and the defiance, just flat out refusal to obey. Then in another moment, my heart is melting because of their slobbery kisses, big hugs and 'Luv oo mom!' It is enough to make me crazy.

******

I am very sick and tired of the comment, "Boy, you have your hands full. Don't you?" I never really know what to say to this. I usually just smile politely and nod or I giggle nervously and say, 'Yup, they sure are full'. But sometimes on those really, really stressful days I just want to scream at the person, "YES I DO HAVE MY HANDS FULL! NOW MOVE AND STOP TALKING TO ME SO I CAN DO WHAT I NEED TO DO. YOU TRY TAKING 4 KIDS SHOPPING AND SEE HOW FULL YOUR HANDS ARE!"

******

Taking my children out in public has gotten to be a joke. I am almost to the point of not doing it at all and just staying at home all the time.
No one will ride in a stroller anymore, in fact its dangerous for them to ride because they can jump out. They all want to, 'Wahk, Wahk'.
So I let them walk, but no one wants to hold my hand when we are in the parking lot. They all run ahead of me.
Do you have any idea how maddening and panicky it is to see all 4 of your children run in all directions in a busy parking lot?
I am left to scream my head off for every one to stop and make the parking lot ever more dangerous because people everywhere are paying attention to me and my ridiculous screaming and not the cars. It is so frustrating and scary that sometimes when I get back to the car and the children are safely belted into their seat, I cry.

******

Ok so enough b*tching and complaining. I will now end this with some funny things that the kids are saying.

******

Since Jake's surgery, he has become a baby Sean Connery. He walks around all the time say, "Yesh, Yesh." It is just so funny. I am just sad I have not caught it on video.

We were in the car. I was really frustrated and I yelled at all the kids to be quiet. It did not work. Jake kept yelling so Hayden decided to help by saying, "Jacob! Stop yelling! You are flipping Mommy off."

Hayden is playing the DS. Quinn comes over to see what he is doing. Hayden doesn't like this and tries to move but this only makes Quinn more curious so he follows each move that Hayden makes. Hayden then lets out and exasperated sign and says, "Quinn, Stop it! Mom, make Quinn stop he is totally ignoring me."

Claire is such a little lady, well sometimes. When even she farts, she needs to let the whole room know but she is a little confused because she always says, "I burp. I burp. I burp." And then runs away laughing. Such a little lady.

Happy Birthday, Papa. We Love You so so Much!

Maybe You Really Didn't Want to Know

I have had lots and lots of little blog post ideas running through my head but I can't seem to fish them out into full blown posts. So that means that it is time once again for me to clear my head and make the air a little more stinky. That's right its time for some Blog Farts (phrase coined by Jaci).

******

Every morning we wake up. Every morning I am hungry and the kids are hungry. They are not shy about letting me know this. They whine and crab at me while I get my coffee ready. They whine and crab at me while I change their diapers. I ask them if they want to eat and I get a resounding, YES! I make breakfast and set it in front of everyone and..... no one eats! Happens every single morning. If they don't start eating it, I just stop making it.

******

For me, one of the things that I must wear every time I get dresses is a bra. I have some fun, sexy bras and some not so sexy fun bras. But I have no favorite bra. No, that bra died a long time ago and I have not been able to find a replacement. This makes me sad. I would give anything to find a bra that I did not have to fight with all day long. One that provided comfort and support with a little bit of sexy. The one special bra that I felt good wearing. *sigh*

******

I am the mother in this household. But I have some one that is giving me a run for my money. Claire is trying to take over the job of keeping her brother's in line. I think this little video says it better than I could.

If you need a translations, she is saying "Quinn, NOW! Quinn NOW!" And you can see him running and hiding in the corner by the chair. The rest of the babble is Jake and then Claire turns to quiet him. See, I told you she is totally getting this whole mom thing down.

******

I don't know about other wine drinkers out there but I kind of like this no cork thing. At first, I couldn't believe that some wine markers would put a twist cap on wine. But it is actually most convenient. You see on those really bad days, when I just need to have a glass of wine, I can just twist and sweet relief is there. No messing with a cork screw, no trying to get the paper off, just twist off cap and pour. Come to Mommy.

******

One of these days, I should really post one of my first drafts when I try and write a post while watching TV. It is really funny but also very confusing. Most of the time, I start my typing my thoughts and then end up typing what I am listening to. I guess multi-task writing is not one of my strong suits.

Random Thoughts and Blog Farts: Photo Edition

Blog Farts – noun. Def: Crappy ideas that are too short to make a real blog post, but when combined, join forces to make one unified, albeit half assed, post. Definition coined by Jaci.

******

Lately, Hayden loves this saying "You are totally FREAKING me out!" He says it all the time. He sometimes uses it correctly and sometimes not so much.

******

Speaking of Hayden, he and I had this conversation in the van the other day where he made this statement, "Mom its fine with me if Quinn sleeps in the car 'cause then there is no screaming."
Well its not fine with me if he sleeps, dear Hayden because if he sleeps in the car then he won't sleep during nap time and mommy needs nap time.

******

I got a pedicure today. I love pedicures. They are just so fun and relaxing and make my toes look so pretty and I am not the only one that thinks so.

******

For the past couple of weeks, I have been so tired. I think it all stems back to my girls night that I had almost 3 weeks ago now. I know, I know, pitiful really but I just can't drink and stay up late like I used to. Any way, I had had enough with being tired. So instead of going out when my babysitter came over on Monday, I took a three hour nap. Thats right I paid someone to watch my kids so that I could sleep and it was beautiful.

******

Having a fever, totally sucks. Having a kid with a fever totally sucks more.
Poor Quinn.
******

For a while now, Hayden has not been taking naps. Which is fine because he still spends time in his room resting quietly. Well, when he is at school aka day care, he usually takes a nap. I don't blame his teachers for wanting a break and school morning are really early but you know what, I don't want Hayden to take a nap (I never thought I would say that). When he naps he is up until 9 or 9:30pm. And I am sorry but if you are under the age of 30, I don't want to see you anymore after 8pm. Love you but Good Night!

******

We live in the woods. It is a really beautiful place to live. I like it, I really do expect for this time of year. Because this is when the misquotes come out. I am one of those lucky people that misquitos just love to bite. Its like I am misquito marijuana or something. Those little bugger just have to bite me. And I am super allergic to the bits. And I am an scratcher and I just have to scratch! It is not fun, people not fun. This time of year, I have to wear bug spray like body spray to keep my legs from becoming something from a slasher movie.

******

I am leaving you with this. Just because I like it and think its pretty.

Random Thoughts From the Mind of Me aka Blog Farts

Blog Farts – noun. Def: Crappy ideas that are too short to make a real blog post, but when combined, join forces to make one unified, albeit half assed, post. Definition coined by Jaci.

Like most mommies, my pajama consist of an over sized tee-shirt and some sweat pants. So the other morning when I went to get dressed, I choose a clean over-sized tee shirt and some sweat pants. Which prompt was snotted on. Why do I even bother?

When your underwear gets holes in the crotch and are no longer wearable, the right thing to do would be to throw them in the trash and not just keep pushing them around in your underwear drawer. Yes, dearest I am talking to you. Its time to empty that drawer.

For Quinn, the was the best part of the hotel was the phone. He loved it and it loved him. He even went so far as to sleep with it, correction slept directly on top of it so that no one could possibly take it from him.

I could totally kiss the person or persons that made Crayola's markers and paints washable and non-toxic especially since these are Jake and Quinn's favorite things to chew on. I am going to take their word for it but apparently the tips are the best part since that is what they bite off and try to eat.

Have you ever noticed while driving along the highway, all the billboards and signs for adult toy stores (aka sex toys) and strip clubs. I guess truckers and other motorist are just really that hard up.

I have realized something about myself. I often make decisions too quickly and then later come to regret some of these decisions. I am not really good at the whole 'shop around' thing. If I see something I like I buy it. Done. This was especially true while building our house. There are some major things that I would change and could have changed if I just would have taken the time to shop around.

What the heck is up with all the emails that I have been getting lately saying that I have won the lottery in the UK. Just how stupid do I look? I think that I would remember entering or playing the lottery, especially a lottery in a country that I don't live in and have never been too.

Summer time is fast approaching and that means that swimsuit season will be upon us. There is no fun in swimsuit shopping, not on bit. Does any one really like it? My issue with the whole swimsuit thing is why in the world do they have to be so darn expensive? Why do I have to pay so much for something that I am going to dread wearing, has less fabric than a pair of jeans and is going to look terrible on me? Do you know how much wine I could get for the price of a swimsuit? I just don't get it.

Warning: Blog Farts and Other Randomness

Blog Farts – noun. Def: Crappy ideas that are too short to make a real blog post, but when combined, join forces to make one unified, albeit half assed, post.
Definition coined by Jaci.

I like to read books but I have a small problem. I am really not very good at it. I am a really slow reader and get frustrated easily because of this. So a book really has to capture my attention and hold it for me to read it all the way through. This is why I have three floor to ceiling book shelves full of books most of which I have not read or read only the first few chapters. There are lots of books out there, books that my bloggy buddies have recommended, books that sound awesome, that I want to read but haven't, maybe its time I get better acquainted with the library rather than Amazon's shopping cart.

Lately, when Quinn gets mad or frustrated with me, he will throw his juice cup to the ground and then give me this dirty little look (I have been trying to capture it but have failed). I just don't get the throwing the cup. He is really not hurting me. I mean, it is a non-spill cup so there is no mess. I don't think that he gets that he is only hurting himself because I don't give the cup back to him.

This little banter had been going around in my head for a while. Its getting warmer. I want to wear sandals. I really want a pedicure but going to get a pedicure means that I will have to shave my legs. My legs are so hairy that it is going to take hours to shave them and then there is the up keep. But I really want a pedicure. *sigh*

I watched an infomercial for this hearing amplifier, Loud and Clear, the other day and I almost peed myself because I was laughing so hard. I seriously can't believe that there are people out there that would spend money on this let alone wear it. It looks like a blue tooth ear piece. It just cracks me up because people want hearing aids that are small and not noticeable and then there is this product.

I really do love the holidays and Easter is one of my favorites mostly because I love church on Easter morning. The music is just awesome. For many years after Jeff and I were married, we both sang in the choir and got to be a part of that music in a very special way. Once the babies were born, we had to quit. I miss choir, desperately. Singing is a part of who I am, a part of my soul and not being able to do it hurts. But the logistics of joining choir again are just overwhelming and keeping me/us from going back. Soon, hopefully soon. Hey, maybe some time I should blog about my history with music?

Blog Followers. I am not going to say much about this just that fact that I wish that when you stopped following a blog there was a place to fill in a reason as to why. I want to know what makes some one leave and I want to be able to tell some one why I am leaving. Maybe.

I am a religious watcher of Brett Michael's show Rock of Love. I don't listen to or know his music, I am not a fan of his but for some reason I really want him to find his 'Rock of Love'. The third installment of this show was Rock of Love Bus. Last week, the show ended with him picking his love. Well, he picked the wrong one. *Spoiler Alert* I can't believe that he picked Taya! She is nuts. He passed over a totally awesome girl, Mindy, for Taya. I really, really liked Mindy. I want Mindy to find her rock of love. Hey, VH1 give Mindy a show. Find her love!

Because this is about blog farts, I feel that a poop story fits here. Claire is really becoming aware of her body and when she has a dirty diaper. She does not like it one bit. She has started to tell me that she is dirty or she will go and lay on the changing table (I see some potty training in her near future). But when she tells me she is dirty, she says, " mmm Snin-key, snin-key" aka stinky. It is just so cute. So I will ask her, "Are you stinky?" and she will fiercely nod her head and run to get a clean diaper. So cute.

Blog Farts

Blog Farts – noun. Def: Crappy ideas that are too short to make a real blog post, but when combined, join forces to make one unified, albeit half assed, post.
Definition coined by Jaci.

Do you ever get those ads in the mail from Victoria's Secret for a free panty? This always just cracks me up. I really don't know why but I do know that there is no way that the panty in the ad that is suppose to be free with cover my mommy butt. And I always imagine women at the store with the 20 ad coupons trying to get 20 panties for free.

I want to be cute and trendy but I just don't have the energy or the waist line. I see some other mommies out there with their fashion forward clothes and the designer bags but as much as I try it is just not me. Give me an over sized tee-shirt and scrubs any day.

Is there ever going to be a day when all 4 of my children listen to me the first time that I say their name? Am I going to be doomed to call them all at least twice sometimes as many as five times before they will listen? And will certain babies ever stop running away from me when I am coming for them to put their shoes on so that we can go some where?

Did you know that there is a whole Lifetime Movie Network? All Lifetime movies all day every day. So if you are in need of a good cry at a half way decent movie now you have a place to go. My mom is a big Lifetime movie watcher. Me, I just don't get it. Its like there is just too much estrogen or something.

Jake hates to get his diaper changed. He wiggles and squirms around every single time he needs to be changed. That being said, it is rather ironic that he is the child that poops the most and therefore needs the most diaper changes.

Hayden gave this warning to the babies the other day. "You guys need to listen and obey or you will be in this cage. I am going to leave it here so you will remember."
Well I appreciate his help, I have no idea how he is going to follow through and we all know its all about the follow through.

I could really stand to loose a few pounds, well maybe more than a few but I HATE dieting and exercise. There is just too much good food out there and I just love to eat it. It occurred to me the other day that my waist line would be much thinner if I just followed the eating habits of my children, you know the eating habits that I instilled in them.
I give them good foods to eat like fruits and veggies, whole grains, lean meats and low fat foods. When given the choice over a cookie or fruit they usually pick the fruit. I just don't get why it is so hard for me.
When I was pregnant, I actually lost weight because I was eating so much better. Why could I do it then and not now. Is it not important for me to take care of myself now so that I will be around for a long, long time?
Why is it so hard to care for myself?

So there you have it, my blog farts. Sorry that last one was a longer fart. These are ideas that have been swimming around for a while in my head and I just couldn't get them developed into a full post. It was good to get them out but now it kinda stinks in here.
