I like to read books but I have a small problem. I am really not very good at it. I am a really slow reader and get frustrated easily because of this. So a book really has to capture my attention and hold it for me to read it all the way through. This is why I have three floor to ceiling book shelves full of books most of which I have not read or read only the first few chapters. There are lots of books out there, books that my bloggy buddies have recommended, books that sound awesome, that I want to read but haven't, maybe its time I get better acquainted with the library rather than Amazon's shopping cart.
Lately, when Quinn gets mad or frustrated with me, he will throw his juice cup to the ground and then give me this dirty little look (I have been trying to capture it but have failed). I just don't get the throwing the cup. He is really not hurting me. I mean, it is a non-spill cup so there is no mess. I don't think that he gets that he is only hurting himself because I don't give the cup back to him.
This little banter had been going around in my head for a while. Its getting warmer. I want to wear sandals. I really want a pedicure but going to get a pedicure means that I will have to shave my legs. My legs are so hairy that it is going to take hours to shave them and then there is the up keep. But I really want a pedicure. *sigh*
I watched an infomercial for this hearing amplifier, Loud and Clear, the other day and I almost peed myself because I was laughing so hard. I seriously can't believe that there are people out there that would spend money on this let alone wear it. It looks like a blue tooth ear piece. It just cracks me up because people want hearing aids that are small and not noticeable and then there is this product.
I really do love the holidays and Easter is one of my favorites mostly because I love church on Easter morning. The music is just awesome. For many years after Jeff and I were married, we both sang in the choir and got to be a part of that music in a very special way. Once the babies were born, we had to quit. I miss choir, desperately. Singing is a part of who I am, a part of my soul and not being able to do it hurts. But the logistics of joining choir again are just overwhelming and keeping me/us from going back. Soon, hopefully soon. Hey, maybe some time I should blog about my history with music?
Blog Followers. I am not going to say much about this just that fact that I wish that when you stopped following a blog there was a place to fill in a reason as to why. I want to know what makes some one leave and I want to be able to tell some one why I am leaving. Maybe.
I am a religious watcher of Brett Michael's show Rock of Love. I don't listen to or know his music, I am not a fan of his but for some reason I really want him to find his 'Rock of Love'. The third installment of this show was Rock of Love Bus. Last week, the show ended with him picking his love. Well, he picked the wrong one. *Spoiler Alert* I can't believe that he picked Taya! She is nuts. He passed over a totally awesome girl, Mindy, for Taya. I really, really liked Mindy. I want Mindy to find her rock of love. Hey, VH1 give Mindy a show. Find her love!
Because this is about blog farts, I feel that a poop story fits here. Claire is really becoming aware of her body and when she has a dirty diaper. She does not like it one bit. She has started to tell me that she is dirty or she will go and lay on the changing table (I see some potty training in her near future). But when she tells me she is dirty, she says, " mmm Snin-key, snin-key" aka stinky. It is just so cute. So I will ask her, "Are you stinky?" and she will fiercely nod her head and run to get a clean diaper. So cute.

Oh wow, I love posts like this - I call them blh-blah - just random babbling about stuff in general. The un shaved legs - I so understand - I have a post coming up in about 5 hours which you might enjoy.
Not "Deep Thoughts" but "Random Thoughts". I am the same way with books and can testify that the library is best for people like us. :) Also, thanks for all your comments to me!
Oh no - are you wanting to stop following me? Is it me? And you just can't tell me? Jeez, and I've been so boring lately, I just don't blame you. Oh no ....
So much to comment on here! See, we really SHOULD be neighbors. We just have way too much in common...
My very first pedicure was before my wedding. I was working crazy hours, Kevin was enforcing some random "pureness" crap for a month before the wedding, and it was October. Had I shaved? Uh..no. When I saw the chair, realized I had to roll up my pants, and then noticed that a little leg massage went with it I wanted TO DIE. I had a little Korean girl doing it and I kept apologizing profusely about my stubble. It wasn't just leg hair, it was the "I shaved 4 days ago" HURT YOU stubble.
I am also a huge church choir geek! I went last year, when Kevin could watch Elizabeth while I went to practice. But she threw fits every Sunday while I sat with the choir. This year Kevin works and I couldn't even make practices. I miss it, too.
Go to the library! It is the best. Truly.
Get out the brush-hog and take care of those legs lady LOL! Pedicures are SO yum! I even get Andy to go with me and get one.
Bret always picks the wrong one, so they can do another show.
Okay...I have the same issue with reading. I also LOVE to sing! I have several issues with the following thing & wish Blogger actually cared to get people's opinions. I also hate this time of year b/c of having to shave & have painted toenails! :) And love the snin-key story! I wish Trevor cared when he was dirty!
I love random posts, and I particularly love the fact that you call yours Blog Farts!
FYI- we laugh our butts off over that LOUD AND CLEAR commercial every time it comes on. Especially when they talk about using it for eavesdropping!!!
Oh my goodness- Joseph throws HIS sippy cup to the ground when he's mad too!
What's up with that?
I'm always like, "Ummm...Good one, Joseph!"
Sounds like Claire will be an easy one to potty train! (Hopefully!)
Yay...we are both BFF's! Jaci is our BFF queen!
I hate it when the shower gets cold cause I've used all the hot water standing there for sooo long while I'm trying to mow down the leg hair. Not that I know anything about that...just guessing that's the way it could be, umm, yeah, that's it.
Little girls are sooo much easier to potty train. And just you wait girl. When those boys are all peeing in the bathroom, well, umm, trust me. They aren't terribly specific.
Hahaha I have the same talk with myself about a pedicure! I'd hate to picture the look at the poor girl's face when she caught a glimpse of my legs ;)
I totally understand about the cup throwing! I don't get it either. SO funny about Rock of Love. I have never watched it, but my co-workers went into a thorough explanation at lunch yesterday. LOL. Claire is adorable!! Have a great weekend. :)
Jen, I hope you are able to return to the choir soon!! But I do understand. I haven't sung with a choir since leaving Grand Rapids. Easter is the best time to be a part of a choir.
And the Loud & Clear: we saw a commerical that emphasized the fact that you can listen in on your neighbors conversations!! So, it's not a hearing aid, it's a spy gadget!
I agree about the blog followers. It's all so mysterious... they randomly show up, never comment, and then they're gone... How did you find me? Why did you follow? WHat made you stop? It really is perplexing!
DH actually said to me last month "Just because it's winter doesn't mean you don't have to shave." WHAT!?!? Where's he been the past 9 years? LOL
I SO agree with you about Rock of Love! Bret Michaels/Poison are before my time, but I'm fascinated with the show; and he definitely picked the wrong one. Taya is a total wack-job.
And please go get your legs waxed and a pedicure for yourself- you'll feel awesome and the upkeep from waxing is so minimal. Trust me. I, too, hate shaving.
Love the random thoughts!
My Finn has been throwing his cup when he gets mad too. If I pick it up and set it on the counter, he will go get it and throw it again...just to make sure I know he is really ticked at me!! Too funny!
Bummer about missing out on choir. I bet you will be able to do it again in the next year or two. I know that sounds like a long time, but really it is not that long in the grand scheme!
ROCK OF LOVE!!!!!!! I am so happy someone else loves that show as much as me!!!!!
I agree with you on the follower thing.
Excellent blog farts.
The library is a beautiful thing.
I'm a bit obessed with comments and followers, but in the end, I don't think you can worry too much around it. You're never going to please everybody.
Hilarious idea ... BFF :o)
Also, I saw that hearing aide thing-a-mah-jig and I contemplated buying it just so I am not blown away from the TV blaring so Dummy can hear it properly.
Ahh the followers. Sometimes when I get a new follower I go to their profile and realize they are from Indonesia, and a man, and write a blog in some other language. And they never comment, but they're a follower. I'm all WTF??? But I try not to get too weirded out by the unfollowing because I know sometimes I unfollow for many reasons, the main one being I already have a bunch of stuff in my reader and their blog is just the least interesting. Or they don't have a writing style that matches mine. Or recently I unfollowed one because all he ever talked about was sex with himself, with others, imaginary sex, television sex, yada yada yada. Uh, no thank you. But don't worry I won't unfollow you, turd.
I've actually emailed people and told them why I stopped following or subscribing. I didn't ask them to change anything for me, just what bothered me.
I though Brett made an AWFUL decision.
And your kids are too smart for their own good.
Love the post.
The library is a wonderful place both for the people who start but don't finish books...and the people who go through several books a week (*blush*). It keeps the first group from wasting money, and the last group from going deep in debt and running out of bookshelf space. ;)
Those reality show guys NEVER pick the right ones. It seems so obvious to us. I love the stinky diaper notification going on in your house!
I love the flatulence! So cute that your daughter does that, time to get the potty out for her!
You don't know Bret Michael's/Poison's music?
We are breaking up.
That hearing amplifier commercial kills me too. The things that they use to promote the use of their product is hilarious.
I read in Shape Magazine that you shouldn't shave your legs right before a pedicure because the stuff they put on them can sting if you do that. Which is good enough reason for me not to stress about it, but I might just be more lazy than most people :)
I used to sing, too! I hope you can get back to it soon!
Love the deep thoughts. I always have random stuff running through my head. I could probably use one of these.
I think potty training is indeed on the horizon! I love Rock of Love Bus! Loud and Clear reminds me of the old Miracle Ear...remember that one?
we are doing the potty training right now...peanut does not want to pooh on the potty though...she hides. it is so cute. lol good luck. as for a good book...check out janet evanovich "one for the money"...it is the first of a long series, but definatly a page turner.
Hey girl. Maybe I need a lesson here in the following business. What's going on????? I know when I go to my dashboard I see my number of followers but other than that I don't have a clue. I see some people who have 200 followers but they have 35 comments a day, so don't understand that either. All I know is I love ya and while I don't sign up to follow anyone because I don't know how I like coming here. But talk to me, teach me something......
I think these random blog fart posts are becoming my favorite.
I have not been to the library since last summer. And even before that, I couldn't tell you when the last time I had visited the library.
Wow, you do random so well!!! I just recently caught a brief bit of Rock of Love. Why does he always have either a hat on or his famous doo-rag? Is he really bald? That's what I wanna know. Tim's convinced Bret Michael's stuffs a sock in his pants....I think he's just envious.
I recently found out that since I became a mother, reading just isn't a priority. And this is coming from somebody who could get through an 800 page novel in 3 days. I've read 1-2 books a week for most of my life, it's actually an unhealthy obsession.
My only fix has been starting to exercise again. The two things alone are completely uninteresting to me. Exercise Bike? No way. Reading? No time. Combined? This could work... Of course ask me again in a week and who knows if that'll still be the case :P
I've never had a pedicure... no way anyone is touching my feet! And not to make you feel bad... but I'm mostly Italian but hardly ever need to shave....
I think at least half of this post could have come from my own noggin! Same here on the books/reading, the pedicure/legs, and especially Easter Sunday and singing! Our church (and my parents') has the choir singing the Hallelujah Chorus and anyone else can join them, so I did get my fix for a few minutes!
As for the Loud & Clear...I'm sure my nosy neighbor has already ordered them in bulk.
Why does it take so much work to treat ourselves to things such as pedicures? I have a gift card for a massage that I have had for like 2 years - but first I have to shave legs and armpits, then I have to either find someone to watch Tyler or drop him off to, I should do it when my mom is here but of course that takes a little planning ahead which takes brain power and sometimes there's just not enough left in the tank! ;-)
I'll have to try this sometime, usually I would just post the short stuff anyway but this might be better. Your blog is so pretty by the way!
hee hee - I shaved the other day - but only b/c I have a dr appt - otherwise- forget it!
Ah, so there are advantages to living in a cold climate. You can let your legs go all wooley mamoth during the winter. Nice!
