What an Egg-citing Day

Happy Easter! I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday. We sure did. This was the first Easter in a long time where is was sunny and beautiful and not raining or snowing.

There is the recap of our weekend.

You can't have a holiday without some of Jeff's famous shape pancakes.
So I give you an Easter egg and the Easter bunny.

I got a fun surprise in the mail, an Easter basket . I was part of an Easter basket swap held by Manic Mother. This basket was just for me. It was filled with awesome stuff that I just love like some cooking utensils, a candle, and a beautiful nurse key chain.

But being that I have 4 children it was not long before they became interested in what I got.

Quinn loved playing peek-a-boo with the lovely towel.

They all got in on the chocolate action

And Claire, well she was all about the paper.

So Thank You Manic Mother! This an awesome Easter basket surprise.

Then of course we all got dressed up in our Easter best.

And after church and some naps it was off to Grandma's house for an Easter egg hunt and a fabulous dinner.

There was even some high flying fun

with a safe landing, of course.

Now there is just one question I have, does any one want some egg salad? Because I don't know how much more I can eat. Making egg salad from the almost 2 dozen dyed easter eggs we had was probably not my best ever idea. If you smell my drift.

Ah, yes. Nothing like the sweet smell of hard boiled eggs. Lots of 'em. And egg salad.

I've been burning vanilla-scented oil all day to try and rid the house of the odour! At least I can drown my own senses in chocolate. ;)

Happy Easter! The kids looked adorable!

Oh how fun! I love the pics of all the kiddos! I love that in the egg hunt pics Jake and Quinn's sleeves are all pushed/rolled up like they are really getting down to business! :-)

cute! Wow 2 dozen dyed eggs? You are a brave Mommy. We did about six eggs before my kids were tye-dyed, the floor stained, and my nerves were shot. Did you know, a crack-dent on the side of an eggshell makes a cool spider web pattern when dyed? :)

I tossed all our Easter eggs this morning. I know it is wasteful, but I don't think I could stomach egg salad right now.

I made lunch out of an egg...and some lettuce...and 1/2 of a chicken breast shoved in the back of the fridge from who knows when. One egg down...8 more to go?

I hear you about getting sick of all those eggs...but I'm still in the beginning of the love affair with them at this point in time.

The kids look so adorable...I love the high flying action shot...That girl got air!

A great day - wish I got something for myself as I am preparing all the baskets for everyone else. Glad you got a surprise.

I made everybody eat the eggs for breakfast (well, most of it).

ooooh, I'm so jealous. I want to be part of a swap.....(insert whiny nasal voice here). Seriously, let me know the next time you guys have a swap. I love to swap. LOVE it.

No thanks on the egg salad, but you are certainly sweet to think of me.

OMG you have the same plates I did when I first got married. BUT we have since replaced them with corelle. All those dishes were so pretty but my kids little hands couldn't hold them with food on top. Plus the corelle is chip-resistant, and stacks up so nicely. Function over beauty. One day I'll go back to fashion over function!
