This picture was taken during our first winter in this, our new, house. I had never seen so much snow on the trees before. I thought that it was kinda pretty. Can you see this little boy walking down the road? It is Hayden, we was about 2 years old.We were on our way out but I wanted to take pictures some snow first. He got tired of waiting for me and started walking down the road. He was about half way down the street and since we had places to go, I decided to put the camera way and get the car and drive down to pick him up.
It is not a busy street and I was sure that no one would drive by. I was wrong! He was a lot faster than I thought and he was almost down to the main road by the time I caught up to him.
One of our neighbors, who I had never met, stopped her car and was trying to put him into her car when I got there with my car.
She was not impressed with my parenting skills and she sure told me so. She was holding onto Hayden rather tightly and it seemed that she did not want to give him back. I never said a word and just graciously smiled and then Thanked her. She got back into her car and drove off in a huff.
I admit that it was not one of my best parenting moments. Lesson learned; Neighbor 1, Jen 0.

I wouldn't have seen him if you hadn't have pointed him out. The trees look beautiful!
Living in CA, we don't have scenes like this. When we went to CO in last November for my sister's wedding, I had so much fun taking photos of snow covered roads and trees and roofs etc. We even took tons of photos outdoors just we'd have snow in our photos.
Oh, the snow....sorry, but snow is not my thing....and I live in Pa.!
You will find me inside for most of the winter.
Anyway...too cute to see him walking.
And the neighbor....ugh....nosy!
I love the Food Network. I watch it at the gym while pedaling :)
Oy! That's a really interesting story to go with an absolutely beautiful picture. Snow is gorgeous, but it's way too flippin' cold for me.
Oh your neighbor needs to lighten up a little bit...
I only lived in the East Coast for 3 years, but I really miss the snow (and cool weather). The picture is great!
darn judging neighbors. Amazing picture, btw.
We all have moments that are not our finest. We learn from them.
What a beautiful picture. That is so far from our situation - last time it snowed (very lightly) in our city was in 1913!
Some people just don't appreciate the importance of capturing a picture when the moment is right. Don't feel bad; Gabe would have been running down the middle of the main road by the time I got there :)
Love it! From a more recent post about your nieghbors - I'm guessing the score isn't more even or in your favor?!?! :-) We have some neighbor issues too...we have this couple who lives across the street from us who have a girl probably about 6 or 7. We wave, say hi, smile - all they ever do is look @ us - right through us - as if we don't exist - no smile, no wave, no words - nothing - I know for sure they are not deaf or blind as I've heard/seen them outside talking to eachother and thier daughter and they both drive - Apparently though, Craig, Tyler, or I have done something to offend/upset them...although we've never ever let our child walk down the street alone :-) He, he, he :-)
