Memory Lane Monday

If everything goes according to plan, you are reading this well we are on our way to my in-law's cabin. This is a place that is very special to my father-in-law, he has been coming here since he was a boy, like for 50 some years.
A couple years ago, we were able to stay up there with them and we had a great time. It was Hayden's first experience with swimming, canoing and fishing. He played every day until he fell over with exhaustion.
Last year, we were not able to join them up there for obvious reason. So this year, we are going just for the day. Here are some pictures from our trip 2 years ago.
Hayden and Daddy had a very successful fishing trip.

Cool Dude!?!

Hayden's very first time in the lake. Just look at that smile. He absolutely loved it.

I have no idea what he is doing in this picture. But he looks cute and thats all that matters.

Because I feel bad that I am going to be gone, I am going to make this post a double trip down memory lane. I am going to re-post one of my favorite stories from when the babies were teeny tiny. (Again, feel free to laugh at me, I can now.)

Yum Yum!
The mornings are the busiest time in our house. Everyone needs to have diapers changed, drink a bottle, eat breakfast, get dressed, have chocolate milk and so on. The babies seem to have the least amount of patients during this time but I guess who can blame them since usually they have gone 12 hours with out eating. Anyway, I usually try to steal 5 minutes for myself to eat a quick bowl of cereal and drink my first of many cups of coffee (Mmmm...coffee). So I get my cereal, turn on the Today show and begin to eat.
I put the first bite in my mouth and, wow this cereal tastes different. Chew some more. Wow this is sweeter that normal and it kinda smells like...(sniff)...like formula. Chew some more. It kinda tastes like... formula.
Oh my, it is formula! I put formula on my cereal instead of milk! Yuck! Yuck ! Yuck!
Run to trash to spit out my mouth full. Yuck! How do babies eat that stuff? I start over and this time make darn sure I grab the milk and not the formula pitcher.

Ok, I totall thought it was going to be breast milk on the cereal... see?? It could have been worse....

I absolutely LOVE pictures of Daddy's and son's and fishing. My hubby is insane about fishing and I CAN'T. WAIT. until Graham gets into it...

Oh that story is hilarious!!! Loved the "try this button" comment. Could you imagine, that would be great. It just made me think - I press the Ctrl Z/undo button all the time that sometimes when I am away from the computer and make a mistake I think of pressing it and I say "oh that's right, I am not on the PC." And I lOVE even just the word CABIN. Hope you're having a great time!!!!!

It looks like he's trying to pee on the tree but confused because he's wearing a diaper.

Baby formula tastes N-A-S-T-Y. I think it's to encourage them to move on to real food. :)

Friend of mine did something similar once, except he had cat food instead of cereal. And the goofball went ahead and ate it. 8P
