"Can I Keep It? Please, Can I Keep It?"

The other day, Hayden found a frog. Hayden is an animal/bug lover. Everyday, he finds some creature that he wants to keep forever and sleep with. This day it was a frog, a very large frog I might add.
You see, I am not very fond of frogs, snakes, lizards ,and any other "slimy" creatures. They kinda freak me out. Hayden always wants to show me, which is fine. I will look but I would like to do it from far away or behind a closed door.
This time I did, however, get close enough to take some pictures and a short movie. I will do anything for memories sake and for a blog post.
Even the babies got into it. Claire actually reached into the container to try and grab the frog. (She is so not my child.)
Just a couple words about the movie; it is not the best because its a new camera and I am still learning how to use it. Also you will notice some shaky shots and that is because I am totally freaking out because Hayden is coming at me with the frog and kinda "drops" it at me feet. Go ahead and laugh at me, I did.

Hi Jen..I have seen your Buried with Children title on a couple of blogrolls and came over to say Hi. Your kids are adorable and you do have your handsful...of kids...not frogs...I won't be caught dead touching them...frogs...not kids...no sir....I am in awe that your little one picked it up...and was laughing as you described him coming at you with it. Didja get all that? Anyway, it's nice to "meet" you!

Adorable pictures! Both my kids are of the "Can we keep it? PLEASE MOM?" variety. Thankfully I've instilled a strong drive to the idea that if we keep it, it'll miss it's Mommy TOO MUCH!

We should introduce your new frog to my Crow Baby. I'm sure they will become fast friends, move to the city and open a Starbucks together.

I LOVE how he asks you, "why you freaking out?" So cute... I'd be freaking out too....

Too cute!! My middle daughter - now 24 - loved bringing home frogs, toads, snakes and other creepy crawlies. You've got boys, so it must be worse for you!!!

Oh I used to love slimy creatures when I was young (used to have a tank filled with lizards)... though now I can't stand them.

Your kids are too cute - and you are funny!

OMG. Wee One would pee himself with excitement. The in-laws had a ton of baby frogs jumping around their yard one night. He was giddy. If he found a big one like that, OMG.

Mommy would pee herself too. In fear.

You know, it isn't really the frog, per se, that freaks me out...it is the fact they pee on you. Not that you could even tell if one peed on you, but still! Love how you jumped!

OH how cute that all of the kids were so into the frog! Love the pic of all of them surrounding it.
I am the same, keep those slimy things away please!

I woulda been right there on the floor with the little ones. Love those big fat frogs!!! Ha ha. And definitely try the frying. Not that I encourage the greasy cooking, but they were just delicious and super duper easy.

I'm shouting YUCK right now. Not a frog fan. And I don't care who says frogs don't cause warts...I'm telling you my girls were playing around with the baby frogs in our backyard a while back, and now all we deal with is warts!!! We had to buy stock in the "freeze off" wart kits!!! Beware!
I left you something on my blog...

Jenny sent me over...

oh yeah- I thought you were doing good not to drop the camera on the poor guy. I might have-- I don't do anything slimey or green, which doesn't alway bode well with 4 boys.

I stumbled onto your blog today. Your kids are darling and I love the "frog movie." I'll be back to read more.

I came here cause I saw your funny blog name, and I'm happy I did.

I'm also happy that you put "slimy" in quotes, since it's not accurate for most if not all of the animals you cited.

You son reminds me of me at that age, all the way up to my current age, I suppose. Can't wait till my son starts catching frogs and stuff like that.

If it's any consolation, my wife would have had exactly the same reaction as you.

Well, I like frogs better than mice and birds. I still won't hold one, though. Ewwww...
