I do a monthly feature over at Multiples and More about cooking with your kids. For this months feature, the kids and I made a Halloween treat and we had so much fun that I just had to share it with you too.
Since Halloween is right around the corner, the kids and I made this ghoulish snack to celebrate the upcoming holiday. Now this snack doesn't really involve cooking-----you don't have to turn on the stove or touch a pot. But it is fast, fun and produces lots of giggles and good times.
Since Halloween is right around the corner, the kids and I made this ghoulish snack to celebrate the upcoming holiday. Now this snack doesn't really involve cooking-----you don't have to turn on the stove or touch a pot. But it is fast, fun and produces lots of giggles and good times.
So gather your ghouligans, and let's get started.

You will only need a few things: Oreo cookies, gummy worms, wooden spoon, baggies and bowls.
Put some Oreo cookies into the bags.
I used 5 cookies for each bag and honestly, I don't know what I was thinking. Two or three cookies would be plenty.Once the cookies are in the bags,
take the wooden spoons and smash them until you get a dirt like texture.Just make sure that you only smash the cookies and not a sibling.
The latter results are not pretty.
(Trust me on this. I tried to capture this but I had to be the parent and stop the sibling smashing.)
Here is what it looks like when all the smashing is done.
Next pour the dirt into a bowl.
Now get ready to put the worms in.....

What a great project for young kids:-)
Ha ha ha! That is soooo cute. I love how all of your kids are sitting perfectly still at the dinner table!! Which is making me wonder how bad of a mom I would be if I served this for dinner!!??!
:-)
Happy Friday!
Very cute! Looks like they had great fun doing it too.
LOL. Too cute. You have an army of chefs in there and I can't even get my one to help me :(
That's great! Trevor loves to help cook & that's a great recipe for him to make! Thanks!
How easy and simple. I bet my 3yo will love this! Thank you for sharing.
What a great idea! I suspect my little hooligan would not make it to the putting the worms in the dirt stage before gobbling down the cookies, but it will be fun trying!
LOL! Listening to them talk with a mouthful of dirt and worms was too funny. They are so darn cute.
So cute and super easy. Wish my son ate chocolate, this would be cool. But I could see him making it, hating it, then I'm scarfing down all the Oreo goodness.
we do this too! only we add ice cream and chocolate sauce and freeze it a little bit..mmmmmmm
Yum!!
Now I want some.
That looks like so much fun! We're going to a Halloween party tomorrow and I didn't want to bring some boring pumpkin cookies. I think I'll do this with my kids!!
