Total Insanity

Sometimes I feel like talking to my toddlers is like trying to get some where on a merry go round, you get no where fast. Case in point, this interesting conversation I had with Claire.

Me: *leaning down to give her a hug* Hi, honey. Did you have a good nap?

Claire: Yeah.

Me: Do you want to have a snack?

Claire: Yeah.

Me: Well, want do you want to have for your snack?

Claire: Want snack.

Me: Yup, sure. I will get you a snack. What do you want?

Claire: Snack, want snack.

Me: Yes, I know that you want a snack but what do you want to eat for snack.

Claire: Snack.

Me: Claire, tell me what you want to eat for snack.

Claire: Owie head.

Me: So you don't want a snack?

Claire: Head hurt.

Me: Yeah, this is making Mommy's head hurts too.

Claire: *gives me a puzzled look* Snack now?

Me: *sigh* Sure, do you want fruit snacks?

Claire: Yeah, snack.....

At least she answers questions. I asked Tristan this morning "what are these?" He's supposed to say "ticklebugs" but instead says "wha aw ese" hmmm...I can't get the kid to answer a question. I don't know if he doesn't know how or just doesn't want to.

It sounds exactly like the conversation I had with my 13 year old

Oh yeah, I would have needed a nap after that too.

You are so cute. After the first "Want Snack" I would have said, "Okay, now go in another room until I call you for snack." Not only do I tell them what they will eat and when they will eat it and where they will eat it, but I like my peace and quiet while preparing it.

But I'm kinda a bitch like that.

Huh....seems like I have had the conversation with many members of my family.

Your Claire is darling.

Very cute. Sounds exactly like Maggie. Nice that you don't have much to look forward to, right? :)

Haha! I know just how you feel! She is so cute!

By the way- went online and got caught up on Glee after your recommendation, and Oh. My. Gosh. I love it so much! It is awesome and perfect, and is it wrong that I lust after the high school boys? Dang pregnancy hormones.
My new favorite show! Thanks!

Oh my. This is EXACTLY what I'm going through with Anna-Lucia right now.

Do you get it in triplicate? Because if so, I'm sending a crate of wine express from Australia to your door right now.

Yep, sounds pretty painful to me. Good luck with that. At least she's got her looks to keep the conversations flowing for awhile, right?

This sounds awfully familiar. At the second "want snack" is usually when I give up and just get a bowl of Goldfish!

Sounds like a conversation my kids would have with ME, after a night of no sleep!

She is so cute. "Head hurts."

Hugs and Mocha,
Stesha

Conversations with toddlers might be the least productive and most frustrating thing ever.

Melody is like that! It drives me crazy...I've started just putting a snack in front of her instead!! ;)

Aw, but she's so freaking cute. I mean, you have to overlook such crazy conversation when it comes from such a sweet little gal!

Plus, my head would hurt trying to decide on a snack immediately after waking up, too. :)

maybe "snack" is fruit snack - that is what my little one calls them

Yep. Yep. Sounds like my life. Pretty accurate....

Gosh that sounds exhausting. Off course, I do not ask what you want for a snack - I offer what I think they should have, take it or leave it. Most of the time they just take it.

LOL! You needed to consult your crystal ball Miss mind reader.
