How Much is that Doggie in the Window?

I want something.
But I know that I am never going to get it.

I want to get a dog.
I think it would be really, really fun to have a dog around the house.
But this is never going to happen.
Jeff is a cat person through and through.

No exceptions.
End of Story.
Done.

But that doesn't change the fact that I still would like to have a dog.
I think it would be fun.
You know, for the kids.

Well, the other day when we were at the store, Jeff agreed to us getting a dog.
I was floored.
Completely blown away.
Especially when he added that each kid could get a dog.

I about fell over in shock.
But then the reality hit me.
How in the world were we(I) going to be able to care for four dogs?

Then Jeff showed me what he had in mind.

Four balloon animal dogs.
"Perfect", he said,
"They make the kids happy.
No having to walk them or clean up their poop
and in a couple of hours, they will all be gone."

Yeah, perfect.
Not exactly what I had in mind.
But the kids loved this idea.

They all loved and played with their doggies until each one popped.
Tears where shed by them all when the doggies were no more.
But thankfully, these dogs can be easily and cheaply recreated.

Ah, ha ha ha! Funny guy!

Get a Saint Bernard. THey are great! And after the first two years, they don't do anything but lay around, lol. GREAT with kids too! You won't be sorry with a saint~

AHAHAHA! Wonder if I could make a tiger-striped balloon cat and if that would satisfy the Princess Naggers nagging to get a real one? ;)

Do you REALLY want to walk a dog, let it in and out, feed and clean up after it? Charlie is a GREAT pet! I'm with Jeff! Mom2

Cats have litter boxes. Eeeewwwww! Dogs rule. Cats drool. Period. End. Of. Story. Actually we have both at our house, but only because my hubby is a fancier of felines like yours. I just don't get it. Cats are so aloof. Dogs are loyal companions. Okay, I am stereotyping. But seriously anytime you or your kids need a good dog fix, come on over and my boxer will let you rough and tumble with him while our cocker spaniel will sit calmly for all the petting you'd like.

Wow, he really tricked you - lol. The kids seem to like their balloon doggies anyway!
Happy WW!

Too bad, dogs are so much fun, but a lot of work when you have kids!

That's a man for ya! Always trying to be resourceful.
I have a friend who has a cat that actually acts like a dog. Seriously. Pees outside. Will fetch. And makes this weird noise that's nothing like a cat makes but not quite a bark when someone comes to the door.

Aww...how cute!

Ironically, it is my husband who keeps trying to talk me into a dog while I keep saying no. It's not that I don't like dogs, I do. I just don't like taking care of dogs. The balloon variety would be just fine with me, thanks.

Dog person here. 2 large dogs live at our house and we had a bit of "Grandma's Feather Bed" going on the other night when both dogs and Maggie were snuggling up to us!

I actually like his idea. Those are my idea of a good dog!

I'm just impressed you want to add something else to your household.

1.9 kids and two cats and I'm pretty much maxed out.

My hubbie really really can't stand dogs, after some bad experiences as a child. So no dogs for me either. Perhaps I should get me some balloons...

Thanks for the welcome to SITS!

Oh my gosh, I thought you had really gotten four dogs and I was about to cart you off to the looney bin. 4 kids AND 4 dogs, that's a recipe for crazy!

We have 3 cats, 1 St. Bernard, 1 fish, plus 2 kids and that's enough crazy for me, thanks.

I like dogs, but I think cats are way easier to cope with.

I've been lobbying for a dog for a couple months, but my boyfriend is also a "cat man." Finally, while walking through the mall one night I saw a pug puppy (the dog I want!) in one of the cages. I convinced him to let me play with the little baby. It took all of two minutes before he was all "I want one!"

We didn't get the dog that night because pugs are a little expensive, but we've talked about getting one a few times since.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. :)

Dogs that POP instead of POOPING Good idea.

Don't get a dog! They are stupid! I've got an awesome one and she's still an idiot.

I love her less with each small animal she kills. The Loser.

oooh---I am totally a dog person. And a cat person. And a anything that will love me despite my large rear-end person!

How about we start a petition?

Can we rally on your behalf?

How can we make this happen?

There are strength in numbers.

Lets get that dog for you---I mean the kids. :0)

Your husband has my husband's sense of humor - except he's the dog guy and I'm the cat girl!

We are huge collie fans though. They are gentle, frisky, and tremendously protective - you do not have to worry about opossums, snakes, and other varmits - they keep the property cleared. They also won't let the UPS man near you! They also stay 6 steps behind each child and play soccer!

Hopefully, your husband will soon move beyond balloon puppies!

Cute doggies!!

I prefer dogs over cats too. But I'm allergic to them both, so none for us!

Oh cute Jen! I remember you commenting at my blog about getting a dog and I though - Jen got it!

Work on him, take him to see cute Labrador puppies, let him see Marley and me (ok maybe not - dog too naughty). Ag, just show him our pictures with the dogs.

LOL

You should get a small lap dog, like a Yorkie, they are almost like a cat.
