"Jen, can you check you email?" Jeff said. "Claire fell while I was upstairs with the boys. I took a picture and I want you to look at it. Do you think she needs stitches?"
I quickly opened my email, saw the picture and said, "You should call the doctor and get the official 'ok' to go but yes, I think we need to take her to ER. I will leave here soon."
I quickly finished up my work, reported off to the next nurse and I was on my way. Jeff met me at the half way point between home and the hospital, I picked up Claire and was on my way back to the hospital.
Claire was a real trooper. If you asked her, she had a fabulous time. She loved playing with all the toys that they brought her. She got to watch a couple movies. She flirted with all the cute doctors and nurses. She had a blast.
Her charm and whit just blew me away. She was so good and did everything they asked of her. In fact, she didn't even cry when they put three stitches in her little face. The only time she cried was when we had to leave. She didn't want to go as a matter of fact when I told her that we to go home, she said, "Ooo, shut er mouth."

Oh bless her little sweet as pie heart. I just want to give her some sugar! What a trooper and brave girl you have! And you're so calm!
You have such a brave girl. She is such a cutie.
My daughter jumped off the couch once and hit face first on the coffee table. She was not as calm about getting stitches or being at the hospital. Claire is a real trooper! It must be having all those brothers!
Awwww...what a trouper. I'm sorry your night out was such a stressful one! But you raised such a brave and sweet girl. But tell her ... this is stuff that boys are expected to do ... not the girls!
Yep, I'm with Lauren; when Isabel busted her eye and had to get 11 stitches, we needed earplugs to get through it...drama to the nth degree.
Claire is so stinkin cute! Hope you got some Christmas pictures BEFORE the boo-boo!
you're daughter is so brave :)

Oh no! Poor thing! Looks like she handled it well though. :)
Aw, poor thing. I fell off a chair once and needed stitches (have the scar above my left eye to prove it lol). BTW, I LOVE her bright blue eyes....So beyond pretty, it's ridiculous!
Awww, how precious is she. She talks really well! I'm very impressed. :)
Hope her stitches don't bother her too much.
Love that video.. "are you going to jump on the couch anymore.. yeah" Gotta love it.
Glad she did so well. My son freaks out if he gets hurt, loses control kind of freak out; but somehow both times he has had to go the ER he miraculously does really really well there. Tender mercies.
Great video! Glad she took it all so well. No surprise that a nurse's kid is the perfect patient.
Wow, she did a good one. What a trooper she is!
I hope it doesn't bother her too much.
I love that she's still going to jump on the couch!!
awwwww. boo boos suck. glad she handled it well!
Poor Claire, poor Momma, and poor Daddy. And, of course, she still plans jumping on the couch.
Isn't amazing how good they do?
Now she and my boy will have matching face scars and if no one will marry them...they can marry each other.
Take care Claire baby!
So sweet! Glad she is ok and had fun at the ER!
Of COURSE she's going to continue jumping on the couch. And 10 points to her for being so honest.
Bless her heart. I want to give her a big ol' hug. Glad she's OK. And OH MY STARS--does she not have the most gorgeous eyes in the world? She does. Indeed.
Awwww...what a trooper she is. She also going to give you a run for your money!! "are you going to jump on the couch again?' "yeah." Haha. Glad she is ok.
wow! I'm certain that if that happened to my daughter - we'd need hard restraints to hold her down while they put in stitches. She needs 10 band aids and cries over a hang nail.
*knock on wood* we have not had any accidents that would lead to an ER visit....yet...
Glad she's ok!
Poor baby! Look at those red puffy eyes from the boo-boo!
What a trooper she was! How was mom , though?
I heard you had to go to the ER, and that Claire stole everyone's hearts!!
Poor thing! That looks like it hurt!! I love how when you ask if she is going to jump on the couch anymore, she just says "yeah." ha!
Aw, poor baby! Glad she's ok.
I can't believe how calm she was! Both of mine scream when they get a torn fingernail or a paper cut, fercryinoutloud.
Oh no. That poor little bambino. What a brave girl!
That is just adorable! Poor thing... and I like that she says she is going to jump on the couch again.
Your post about "obey" was also adorable!
Oh my! Why do our kids do these things to us? The video of her is so adorable, especially when she says she is going to jump on the couch again.
Well that is the swetest baby ever!!! Oh my goodness she is a real trooper. Hugs to you too, mama...it must have been hard for you to see her hurt!
Also, thank you for dropping by my blog!I'm sorry it took me some time to get back to you though! It's been so fun to discover your blog, as well. Love the classy paisely background! And I'm your newest follower!! (Not that you needed me with your 8 million followers!)

What a little dumplin!
My man is a trauma nurse in the ER....it sure does help out when you have a brood of kids, huh?!
Mine have had quite a few visits and are always treated like VIPS!
Hope she is feeling good as new soon.
She's a doll.
Oh my she is so cute! Your lucky she was such a good trooper. I hope that she heals quickly. Happy Holiday's!
What a little trooper!! Kids are so resilient. I can't believe Jeff was so calm about it.
Good for her! Bagel had her big wooden blinds come off the brackets when we went to look at the moon this last spring, and the came right down into her forehead! She didn't get stitches, but she did get the glue. She was SUPER brave at the hospital, I on the other hand passed out at the hospital, after my DH got there. I guess mommy was only brave until daddy was there.
Way to go Claire, be careful!
Queen of Feisty
Ah, I'm sorry she had to get stitches...but she sure looked like she thought it was kinda cool in the video:) Glad it wasn't traumatizing!!
such a cutie. You must have a fantastic ER. My kids hate going to ours.
Oh my gosh. Poor little thing. Look at those BIG blue eyes. She is beyond precious!
Oooooooo. I can't believe she was such a trooper through that! My kids think they are bleeding and become hysterical.
Ouch!!! What a cutie she is though- I'm glad she's okay!
Ooooooooooooh poor Claire... wait, what am I saying, she enjoyed it! LOL... Silly girl. I'm glad she didn't freak out, my kids have when they needed stitches :(
Oh goodness! I knew that she'd had stitches, but I didn't realize it was right in the middle of her face. I hope it won't scar. Poor baby, sounds like she did really well.
