Walk out of the room for a minute come back to find the floor flooded.
Claire is screaming because she is now soaked by all the splashing.
Pull her out and stand her on the floor.
Must now get Quinn out for he must be the last one in and the first one out because of habit of pooping in the tub.
Claire is now crying again.
Jake is relishing the fact that he is the only one in the tub begins to butt bomb splash.
Waves of water are sent splashing onto the floor, again.
Swat Jake on the butt to make him stop flooding the bathroom
Narrowly miss getting peed on by Quinn.
Turn to deal with Claire who's screaming has gotten worse.
Realize its because she has peed on the floor and that I am now stepping in it.
(She gets totally freaked out when she pees with out a diaper on.)
Jake is once again butt bomb splashing and now he must get out of the tub.
Pull him out and realize that 'little swat' was a lot harder than I thought as evidenced by the red hand print on his backside.
Feel really, really, really guilty, give Jake extra love and tickles.
Happily, he leaves bathroom to run naked through the house.
Please, please please don't pee on the carpet.
Clean up floor pee puddle
Clean up counter pee puddle.
Lotion and dress Quinn.
Lotion and dress Claire.
Send them down to Daddy for milk cups.
Call for Jake.
Wipe huge lake size puddle from floor.
Drain tub.
Dress Jake.
Gather all 10 towels used to dry children and the floor.
Realize that I totally forgot to actually wash the children.
Oh well, I guess that is what tomorrow night is for.

Oh yes, I know what you are describing. And I have no answers apart from letting dad do the job. If Hunter's home, bath time is his time with the kids. And I am a much more relaxed woman thanks to it.
I second the "let daddy do it" idea from the previous poster.
Mine are currently going through the shower only phase. As much as bath time was a laborious task I am desperately missing it b/c I still haven't discovered how to shower a one year old without getting in with him or getting completely soaked. And, to combat the dirty on the "oops I forgot to wash them" days, just use more bubbles. How dirty can they be? Love your blog:)
I honestly would not be able to do it! Quite the circus you have over there!!
we only have two (little ones) and it is soooo Daddy's job to bath them! I figure I deal with them all day long, and by then my patience was used up an hour or so ago...and he gets to "bond"... whatever..as long as I don't have to do it!... and no he doesn't clean them the way I would, or pick up the wet & dirty clothes... but 15/20 minutes of sweet silence is waiting at the end of the day, (and occasionally a glass of wine!) for sweet glorious bathtime(with Dad)!!
It's amazing how much water a small child can displace when butt bombing :)
Yikes! Can you rotate them through or just bathe one kid a night? lol.
pee puddles...and the bath. isn't that normal?? we have bathtime adventures here too. and for some reason, they all love the bath.
i hate the bath.
It took 6 years before Cat finally started enjoying a bath! I feel your pain!
I'm so glad my hubby does bathtime most nights. The flooded floor would send me over the edge. LOL!
Hint......hand duties over to hubby! ;-)
You are amazing! Cause it's hard enough to keep the mess at a minimum with one baby, much less three at the same time.
Bless your heart! You are truly amazing. I don't know how parents with ONE baby do it, so you are truly a miracle worker. I notice Daddy has the easy job. . .
I am cracking up!
Were the photos from this bathtime, or another?
Ah, motherhood, ain't it grand?
i loved this post incredibly!! i bet your life is full of sweet fun suprises
Makes me realize how easy I have it!
I think this is exactly how it went in our house the other night!!! - I still put all 3 in the tub together. (kyle will have to stop this soon)
I always have a lake to sop up afterwards....drives me bonkers.
They love the tubby time though!
Oh my goodness - you actually bathe them all together!? You are a brave, brave woman!
Very cute rundown of the night though! lol!
Don't feel guilty about the red handprint. You will remember it a LOT longer than Jake ever will! A little swat never hurts them--spoken by an old-fashioned MIL. I'm so glad my grandchildren have you as a mother!
Holy Cow! I have no idea how you manage.
All I can say is I feel your pain...seriously. You know I'm right in the middle of it too, just like you are!! I've had several times too where as I'm getting the kids out of the bath, it dawns on me that I never actually washed their bodies.
I had no idea you have a cooking blog...I'm gonna check it out!
Imagine all you'd have to do if you WEREN'T as organized as you already are!!! You're doing fine to me, and I only have one in the tub at a time!!!!
I'm thinking you need to add to that list...
Send all children to daddy for storytime.
Fill bathtub again with scented bubble bath.
Pour favorite beverage.
Lock bathroom door.
Climb into tub for a nice, long, peaceful soak.
Then you'll be able to do it all again tomorrow. I generally don't have much patience to spare, but all of my extra I will be sending to you psychically so be ready! ;o)
I still wash one at a time in the sink. I tried the all three in the tub at once and it was a disaster! I only wish my hubby would bath them all the time. Not to mention I have three teenagers who leave the bathroom looking like a war zone. So I would have to clean up the bathroom X2. I will have to bite the bullet and get used to my back killing me as I attempt to give baths in an actual bathtub..lol.
That was chaotic just READING it! Get a good night's sleep!
I like to think that all that swishing around in the water cleans them just fine, thankyouverymuch. Soap is totally overrated.
OH my goodness that is too funny...I read it outloud to my husband he chuckled too. Been there not like you, you have your hands full.
I used to love bath time until I had three. Now I loathe it--- it seriously makes me crazy!!!
That was great! I thought I had it rough at times. Guess I forgot what it would be like times 3! My first mistake is that i have a big cup in the bathtub to rinse him off. Yeah, probably not the smartest thing to do if you are trying not to get water on the floor!
Oh Jen, wow that's huge. If it was the Australian summer I'd say take them outside and hose 'em down!
Did I ever tell you about that time that one of the twins handed me POOP after his bath? Just thought that might make you feel a little better. :) I love the pictures, and this post, but must admit, I'd glad I didn't have to do bathtime at your house last night. :)
Such beautiful babies!!
Thank Gawd..I'm glad bathtime chaos is not just ME! I only have 2 kids and it still looks like flash flooding hit my bathroom when we are done.
Wow!!!! What a night!
LOL--I'm exhausted just reading about it!!
I'm exhausted just reading this! I agree with the above commenter who said let daddy do it. :)
Ha! I`ve forgotten to wash my boys more than once, myself. And all that chaos you mention, coupled with the fact we don`t even have a bathroom at the moment or hot running water means that we only do baths twice a week. Usually.
Oh, wow! I think one little toddler is hard... I should really think about walking in your shoes. You are so tough! (I am kind of jealous.) ;)
