The Rat Race

All, I have to say is what a week!

I didn't think it was possible to be this exhausted and I have triplets.

I really don't know how you mommies out there that work 5 days a week, do it.

Let's just say that I now have a whole new respect for you.
You ladies, totally ROCK!

I have no idea how in the world you keep up with everything.

I would get done with my classes at work, get the kids and head home, ready to put my feet up and relax. But that just didn't happen.

As soon as I entered the house, the kids needed dinner, bathes, things needed to packed and readied for the next day, the house was a mess, laundry needed to be done, groceries don't just appear in the fridge and so on.

I felt like I was constantly behind, always running to catch the next thing but never able to.

I guess that is why one morning I got out of the shower only to get back in again because I couldn't remember if I had washed my hair.
I did this three times before I just gave up.

Or one night when Jake wanted to eat frozen garlic bread for dinner, I let him.

It was one whirl wind week and I am glad it is over.

But there was a silver lining to this week.

I am not talking about the awesome friends that took things over here at my beloved blog.
I am so grateful for their help and I thought that they all did a fantastic job.

I am not talking about the fact that I learned all about and was trained for a new life saving program.
I am really excited to prefect these new skills and can't wait to use them.

No I am talking about the fact that I did not have to change one diaper, either poopy or wet, kid sized or adult sized, all week.

That's right.
I went one whole week with out having to care for someone else's bodily functions besides my own.

And that fact makes the whole week worth it.

Now for a relaxing weekend, well sorta.

Okay...first I have to say WELCOME BACK!!!

now I have to say...i don't work and my house is almost always in disarray, laundry piled up etc. So you my friend, have more together than you realize!

Along with that...ummmm...I remember getting out of the shower once, wet from head to foot...but hmmm did I actually wash my body or just my hair? Scary.

Hoooray NO DIAPERS! Nice break. Have a great weekend.

Welcome back ... and that is a lovely silver lining. Sit back and rest a bit. And your guest bloggers did a bang-up job.

Hey! As a full-time working mom of two boys... yes, it is insane! Thre are NEVER enough hours in the day. Luckily, my mom and inlaws babysit my boys so I pick them up from their homes, and dinner is usually always ready for us there - that's my saving grace, otherwise, NO IDEA how I'd have dinner ready on time for my starving boys.. and then the housework, getting things ready for the next day, etc. Never ending! And I only have two boys!

You know, I have no children, in fact I am single.. and I still often feel just as you have described. I think it is encoded in our X chromosomes to always take on more than we can handle, regardless in what form it manifests. :) Yay for lack of bodily fluids, though! :)

Oy, sounds exhausting.

WELL DONE, and congratulations on the lack of diaper changing. It never occurred to me to appreciate that this is not a part of my daily life. I intend to start appreciating RIGHT NOW.

Wow! What would that be like? Both of my kids are potty trained.. but I still have to help with the messy poops. "Mom it's a messy one".. oh the words I love to hear.

Not having to change diapers for an entire week is like a dream come true, isn't it? Of course I haven't experienced that dream yet but my day will come soon enough!

Love the picture of the garlic bread!! I've had moments like that too in the shower...I get out and I'm like, "did I remember to wash my face?", "did I condition my hair or not?"

Yay for no diapers.

I don't know how two full time working parents do it either.

I couldn't be a working parent - not that this SAHM business is easy but I couldn't commute and then work all day without seeing the kids (although that lack of diaper duty does sound lovely), then have them home all at once wanting food and baths and stories and bedtimes. wowsers!

OH tell me what class/program?!?! Glad your crazy week is over!

Just being out of the house for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week makes it a bit tougher to get stuff done. Or to have the energy to do it even if there is time. So I hear ya'!

Not one diaper?
Or wiping someone else's butt? I can't imagine. That deserves to be in the books. :)

Glad you are back. Hope your catch up goes well! :)

no diapers? sounds heavenly! (esp not having to change ones at work...been there done that too...just not on adults).

As for working 5 days a week? *sigh* I agree...its never 'easy'. Some weeks go smoothly and some are insane and I can't tell you what the difference is.

Hope your weekend was good!

Girl, I so hear ya.

I am a SAHM and I will say that YES my work is hard. But I dont' know what I'd do if I also had to work full time. It would be a chaotic mess around here. Plus, there is NO way I'd be blogging, that's for sure.

I have a friend who works full time. And has a son. And, she teaches two online classes on the side fo Univ. of Phoenix. She gets up at like 4 in the morning to do that before she goes into work at 7:00! I can't imagine that.

No diapers? That is cause for celebration, woman! Pour yourself a glass of wine and put your feet up!

For the record, I have on numerous occasions gotten back into the shower because I couldn't remember if I'd shampooed or conditioned...of course, I'm blonde...

Bliss! Not even a small smear of poo on the couch? Heaven.
