This is Jacob (aka Jake).Have you ever taken a picture or a video that just really captures one of your kids. I mean really captures their personality, the kid just being themselves?
Well, I was able to do this with Jake. He is my middle triplet and seems to me to have that middle child syndrome. He really, when it comes down to it, doesn't require that much extra attention. He is happiest just sitting and playing by himself. Claire and Quinn often pair up and go play but you will find Jake just happily playing by himself in his own little world.
He has always been this way, even from birth. As long as you fed him, he had no worries at all. He is the most laid back but also the most timid and shy of the babies. He really doesn't like new situations and will try and hide his face when he is feeling overwhelmed.
He has traditionally been the baby to do things last. Quinn and Claire talk, lot. They are saying new words every day. Jake on the other hand, well he has a language all his own. He is actually very vocal and has a lot of things to say. The only problem is that I don't know what in the world he is saying.
I just love this video. It is just Jake. I don't know exactly what he is saying but I know that it is something about the pumpkins and the leaves blowing in the wind. I love how he pauses to look around and thinks about things. He is just sitting and taking it all in. Now that is just Jacob.

Oh Jen, he is so cute! I'm glad I was able to watch this even though I am at work. No one's around right now. It's awesome to see how they're really shaping their unique personalities, especially for you with triplets!
What a sweet boy. To be blessed with four healthy babies is a miracle beyond measure, isn't it?

Oh how sweet! My middle child is very similar. The sweet, quiet thinker who just loves being on his own.
i love those sweet pauses and wandering eyes...very inquisitive and honest, that little guy. his curls are also to die for!
How old are they again? I think your babies are just a few months older than my baby. I so love this age. What a cutie.

Soon, he will be talking all the time! Smoochy is the same age as your babies, and I don't understand her most of the time. Now, Sonny at the same age was using heaps of words, and controlling this word using a lot of clear speech!
I'm cherishing this babble we're getting at the moment. And as a speech pathologist, I'm not at all concerned about her! Words will come, all too soon!

We had a photo back from my 3-year-old daughter's nursery recently and they were all 'we're really sorry, but she wouldn't smile, but we thought we'd give you the photo anyway to see if you wanted to buy it' and I absolutely LOVE it.
It was absolutely her and one of the best pictures she's had taken!
It is interesting how different siblings can be, even triplets. Jake is such a cutie! He does look like he is saying such important stuff. Wonder what it is?

My son is just that way. He's almost 5 now (in a week. Wow!) But he has always been laid back, cool to be by himself, "in his own little world". Jake is beautiful. & I loved the video.
