Leaves and Leaves of Good Times

We have a big back yard full of trees and you know what that means? Lots and lots of leaves to rake.
Well, we used to have to rake them until a couple of years ago when we purchased a leaf blower. Now it is kind of fun to 'rake' up all the leaves because we, by 'we' I mean Jeff, can now just blow them all into the woods.

But not before we have fun playing in the leaves.

First, Daddy starts to make the pile.

Then Hayden gets a turn and Quinn, smart boy, runs for it.

Claire discovers how fun leaf tossing can be. And that is Jake, whining in my lap. Some one always has to be whining or crying whenever I try to make a video.

Hayden starts to toss leaves at me and the camera. For which, he will be sorry later when I shove some leaves down his shirt, (all in fun I tell you, he was laughing, I promise).

We end the family fun with a race, well it was suppose to be a race but Hayden forgot to tell us the rules, "It was a running-rolling race."
Daddy was not to into the 'running-rolling' thing.

I love this time of the year. I remember all the girls in the neighboorhood raking leaves and making leave houses! We wished we had a cool dad with a leave blower back then....

I love that time of year and miss living in the north and experiencing it. Your kids look like they are having a blast.

That picture of Hayden throwing leaves at the camera came out cool! We haven't had enough leaves fall yet to make piles and jump... but we will soon!

Aw, I'd give my left arm for a backyard like that full of leaves to play in! So much fun for the kiddos!

i love that when kids play, they change the rules all the time...life would be more interesting if we could all do that!

That looks like so much fun. We used to do fun stuff like that in my Grandma's front yard when my brother had to rake the leaves and my girl would jump in the piles before he picked them up. :-)

you make me look lazy. I got a leaf blower for my 300 square foot year for last Christmas. I love it, it even mulches. In fact I accidentally mulched a dried dead robin.

You're making me angry at the 78 degree and sunny SoCal weather.

No Leaves.

No Leaf related fun.

Remember when you could burn leaves? I still love that smell...

they should make a candle in that scent. Maybe I will ... wait. May not be a good idea. M&M + hot wax = certain disaster.

I love playing in the leaves. We missed out on that this year. Most of the leaves fell in one day and then it rained on them, leaving them a soggy mess.

As always, darling pictures.

Oh how fun!!! My daughter just loves playing in the leaves...brings back all the memories of when I was a kid and we rolled around in them! Good times and great memories!

We have two giant oak trees in our front yard that drop leaves from August through April, no lie. My husband is out there blowing and bagging leaves almost every weekend all winter. I love the trees but, man, am I glad that I don't have to rake them up.

Love the roll race!

I'm sure Jeff is thankful for the purchase of that leaf blower. BTW, is that a 4 year old controlling said leaf blower in the 2nd picture?!
