Just A Normal 'Buried with Children' Week

By the end of the day, I am so sick of changing dirty diapers that I just let the kids run around in them for a little while. Plus, I also get to listen to Claire say, Poottee, Poottee, Poottee, which I think is the cutest thing on earth.

One of the things that I do to avoid the meltdowns that come during the bewitching hour is let the kids play outside. Well, since it is the bewitching hour something always happens. The other day it was Jake running across our yard with his pants around his ankles while car after car passed by on our house. I would have helped him but I was too busy laughing.

Hayden threw a shoe across the kitchen and it hit me in the head. Of course I got upset and yelled at him. To which, he responded, "I am sorry. I am sorry. I don't know why I threw it but I forgive you." I am thinking he is a little confused.

Jake came up to me the other day saying, "Youk, Momma. Youk. Baby." I did the good Mommy thing and oohed and aahed over his baby. Then since they are working on their color's I asked him, "Jake? What color is the baby's shirt?" He looked down and the baby, looked at me and the said,"Greeboo? Booreen? Oranellow?"I couldn't help but laugh, "Really Jake, how about pink?"

Hayden is a collector, always has been. He loves to go around and look for things to stuff in his pockets or to keep in bags. When we leave the house, he is in all his glory. But he has this habit of finding the most dangerous or grossest things around. Like used cigarette butt, or condoms, or huge pieces of broken glass. What's next a crack pipe?

This is a conversation that I had with Quinn.

Me: Do you want to have some yogurt for lunch?

Quinn: Yogurt?

Me: Do you want pink, orange or white yogurt?

Quinn: Yogurt!?

Me Do you want pink yogurt?

Quinn: Pink yogurt.

Me: *sigh* Here pink yogurt. Now eat.

I thought that this week I would add my randomness to others.

I LOVE your kids. My favorite is Claire. I love how she is already preparing herself for multiples (holding one baby and backpacking another:-).

I'm sick of poopy diapers too. Dottie resists getting hers changed so I let it stew for a while... I need to get her potty trained ASAP.

Sounds like there is never a dull moment. Great randomness.

Laughing at the crack pipe thought! My boys, at 7 and 10, are still that way! I'm constantly questioning, "Why do we have to pick EVERYTHING up?!" If only they could pick up like that on the inside of the house! :)

Luke (20-months) just recently started saying "Poo-poo this", while he points to his bum. It's soooo cute that I drag out the changing many times. And, I only have 1 still in diapers! :o)

Happy FF and have a wonderful Turkey Day!!

Sounds like a good week.

My oldest is a collector too. Oh my gosh the stuff he keeps and finds.

Once he put a piece of gum in his mouth off of a pole in NYC. I am NOT lying. By God's grace, he's still alive...

Very cute.

I wish my daughter would eat yogurt. Instead she just plays with it.

I only have one so I can only imagine what's it like wrangling 4.

I think you have to see the humor in mothering, otherwise you would just start to cry some days.

Have a great weekend.

Kids are so funny! My Libby is a collector too although she usually sticks to leaves, rocks and acorns...no condoms yet.

Seriously. How do they ALWAYS find the most disgusting thing? It's like radar or something.

That's so funny about Hayden collecting things. Landon does that too and he finds the oddest things to put in this Thomas backpack that he has. It's like his own private stash of toy cars, candy wrappers and a couple plastic spoons.

I love the pic of Clare wearing her baby on her back! She's gonna be a fantastic mom someday!!

Your kids sure are a constant source of entertainment, aren't they? I love that Hayden forgave you when he threw a shoe at your head! Princess Nagger used to be a collector like Hayden - she still collects, but doesn't stuff (as much) in her pockets like she used to. Though luckily she didn't pick up any cigarette butts, condoms or crack pipes. ;)

Happy FF! :)

LOL! LOVE their conversations and I LOVE that you write in phonics so that we can figure out how they sound. LOL( I always have trouble figuring out how to spell like Emma & Will talk. )

Sounds like your week was just about right :)

I love all the random stories! Especially the one with running around with pants around ankles.

My 3 year old has decided that when he needs to pee, he needs to do it off of our 3rd floor deck.

I would yell, but I'm too busy laughing at his little naked butt.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

I'd be scared to reach into those pockets! I'll keep my fingers crossed he doesn't come across a crack pipe next.

What a bunch of cuties. I wonder what it is that makes some kids collectors. My sister's son can't even throw candy wrappers away,LOL.

Sounds busy and crazy like always.

My toddler will only wear pants for the first three minutes of each day. Recently we looked at photos and realized he is pantsless in every single picture. Every single one!!! People are going to think we can't afford to buy him any pants!!!

Please blog about it if Hayden ever finds a crack pipe. :)
And that is too funny about the shoe. This whole post was funny actually. I'm rolling here. Maybe you should just strap a camera to your head and video all this...I would love to watch! It would be true reality TV for a change!
