Jake saw me at the computer and asked me if I could help him make a tribute post about his most favorite thing in the world. He had a poem all thought out about his blanket. I just typed it as he told me.
Oh blankie, so soft and comfy
I need you when I get a bumpy.
When Mom washes you, I get so mad.
There is no other to be had.
I must be with you all day long.
To leave you behind is just so wrong.
I must eat with you on my lap.
I take you with me for every nap.
You are one of a kind, this is true.
Mom, can't find another one that is new.
I love you so my bestest friend, my blankie blue
I know, a cow says "Moo".
I guess he kind of lost it at the end (he is only a year and a half), sorry. But you get the idea, he really, really loves his blankie. Good poem, Jake!
Now just to prove that love, he next wanted to do a photo shoot together.
Enjoy the blankie love.

Oh that is ADORABLE! Both poem and pictures. The Little Miss has a "Blanky-bear" that up to today she can not live without.
Funny and cute! That Jake is quite the poet!
Love that poem. Blankie love is the first true love that kids feel. It is so beautiful. Love the pics too.
What a cute poem! You should encourage him to write more. You've got a budding Dr. Seuss on your hands :)
And the pics are sweet. I love that age.
Both of my boys are blankie boys (Elijah still has his under his pillow; he's ten).
For some reason, Isabel never cared for a blankie. Maybe because she had a paci?
I love the poem, and the pictures. What a sweet boy :)
brooke has massive blankey love!!! so cute! i love that jake is a poet...
Adorable! And I love his little shirt! So cute!
How adorable! And I can see by his yawn that it's time to take a nap with blankie.
This is just so super sweet.
He's like a little Linus from Charlie Brown!
love the yawn...so cute!
So adorable! My oldest had a blankie and it went everywhere with him until he was 4!
Oh, I'm right there with you! Elizabeth has precious "Greenie", the rattiest, stinkiest blanket known to man. She sucks her thumb and rubs the tag on her nose--and the tag is almost gone. What am I going to do when it wears off?!?!
But I can get her to clean her room by threatening to throw Greenie down the laundry shoot. It's hilarious to watch her freak out and run to pick up toys!
That's awesome! What a sweet kid. Blankies are the best. Suvi still cuddles hers at night and Finnegan's definitely got some serious Linus going on.
He's a pretty inspired little guy to compose such a great tribute!
Awww, that is so very sweet!!
I love it!
It looks like it has some life left in it yet, too! :)
Wow, your Jake is pretty brilliant to have that rhyming thing down so well at only a year and a half!! =)
What a cute tribute:-)
Darling...A poet and you didn't know it. Or maybe you did :)
I had a blankie till I was twelve. I know, sad to say. I totally understand you, Jake.
wow! He's so talented! ;-)
My twins have blankies too but each love them in their own way...Sarah gets her blankie and immediately begins to suck on the silky tags (the blankie basically is her pacifier - she only gets it at bedtimes though...b/c the tags getting incredibly disgusting - even though I wash them at least once a week!). For Jacob - his blankie is an invitation for his thumb! As soon as he grabs his blankie, his thumb goes in his mouth and the blankie is in the same hand and brushes against his cheek while he strokes the silky tags with his other hand...so funny!
Stopping over from Jay's.. love the poem, love your blog! Happy Tuesday!
Both of my boys have a "guggy" (their first word for snuggly)
I never thought I would say "Where is the guggy?" SOOOO often...
They are both totally addicted. And I love it. Because the guggy can fix pretty much anything.
Darling boy, darling poem, darling blankie bearer.
There's a children's book right there, sister! How cute! My daughter loves her blankie. She's had it since the day she was born and is now 6...she is never without it!
Wow, you got a little poet on your hands. Cute mosaic!!!!!
Why do kids get so upset when their "lovey" gets washed?
H has a doll named Sally... M has a puppy named, well, Puppy. Sally keeps pretty clean since she pretty much stay's on H's bed. But M still carries Puppy around with her everywhere. So he needs regular washings.
VERy sweet and cute!
Very Cute!
We have a blankie still and heaven help us if we can't find it, and hus puppy, and his transformer and his bakugan and his froggie. All these must be in the bed with him.
You're little man is adorable!
he's going to be a writer like his momma.
This was fantastic! I loved it! Your kid has some mad poetry skillz.
that needs to be published in a children's book of poems!
