I Wonder if He is Ready?

Hayden is going to start kindergarten next week. I am really happy for him (really I am, in between crying I am happy for him) and I know that he is going to love it (I hope he won't love it too much, maybe he will miss his Mommy just a little bit, maybe).

In preparation for kindergarten, Hayden went to Safety Town, a day camp with his fellow 'new friends'.

At Safety Town Hayden, learned all things safety. He got to meet a police man, a fire man, learn about bike safety, how to ride the bus and all kinds of other really good things to know.

Here he is showing off all he learned.

Isn't he cute?

Well, at the end of safety town, the class put on a little program to show all they learned.

Lets just say that this is not really Hayden's thing.

There were so many things that he had to do besides sing the songs.

He had to play with the vent.

Make silly faces at Daddy.

Check out an electrical outlet

But at least he sat still when asked. Thank goodness.

I know that Hayden is going to love Kindergarten, I am pretty sure that he is ready but I think that preforming in the school plays is not going to be his future.

We can not all be Brad Pitt, you know, although I think Hayden beats Brad in the handsome department.

Oh Jen, your heart must be making giant leaps - such a huge occasion.

Hey there are many America's Funniest Video winners that come out of elementary school plays :) How's $10,000 sound? lol

What a sweet heart. My boys would have been the same way. Hope that school goes well for both of you.

Personally, I find the child playing with vents and making silly faces are the stars of any elementary school performance!! I love it!

When I taught kindergarten, every once in a while a child would slip up and call me mommy. I always made sure to tell that mommy that her child was thinking of her that day!

My Gavin started kindergarten this week and loves it. He also loved Safety City over the summer - but not so much the singing, either: "It's embarassing, Mom!"

You'll only cry for a few minutes, Mom! Good luck!

He is such a cutie! He will love kindergarten. I've always thought the best parts of the programs was watching the kids like Hayden. :)

The first week M went to kinder, he told me he wished his teacher were his mom. Not because he was mad or trying to be mean at me, but because he loved her so much. I was happy he loved her, but sad I was so easily replaced =)

It's the number 2 feeling of parenthood behind guilt: bittersweet(ness?)

LOL - love the pics. He is adorable.

I cried like a baby when #1 & #2 started kindergarten and I'm sure it'll happen with #3 too!

I wonder if you are ready?

I know I'm not ready. I have four more years as Jonathan will be almost 6 by the time he can go, but I'm already feeling sick to my stomach about it!

Should there be uncovered electrical outlets in Safety Town?

Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day. I appreciated your comments, and I hope you'll come back and visit again.

Perhaps he's going to do some sort of engineering or something? But yeah, I'm guessing performance art won't be his thing!

What a cutie!

Great pictures. Adorable expression in the first photo. How exciting for Hayden. Lil' D doesn't go to K4 until next week. We both need the separation. It has been a long summer. Take care.

Cute pictures.

My son is always doing something else. He's easily distractable.

But he'll sure blitz Art Class and all things academic. Anything with computers too, don't you think?

He is so cute : ) I know what you mean about crying. I just couldn't stop when Kaishon went. And, truth be told, I still cry every year. It just seems the time goes so quickly : ). I am sure you will rock kindergarten!

He looks so proud in that first picture. What a sweet boy. I can't wait to hear all about his new adventures in Kindergarten.

Yes, he is cute!

It's hard when the oldest starts kindergarten... your "baby" is growing up! But you'll get through it. It may take a glass or two of wine ;)

Look at that big boy! He totally looks ready for the big K!

I think that is sweet that you have already started crying...
