Good Help is Hard to Find

Wine is very important to my survival as a mother. After a long day with the kids, there is nothing like opening a bottle and pouring a glass. Once that sweet liquid touches my lips and slides down my throat, I can just feel that tension slip away and let the relaxation begin.

Now, I don't need a drink every night but when I do, I have been pushed to my limit and I just gotta have wine. So it is very important to make sure that my wine rack is well stocked. This is a job that I do myself. But Jake has stepped up to the plate to help me with this. He keeps a careful inventory of how many bottles I have.

We still have somethings to work on. So that is why I always recount. But you gotta love a boy that helps to keep his Mommy happy.

I've trained my oldest to bring me a beer and the bottle opener. Only when daddy's nearly home, of course.

I love his counting! Does your hubby drink wine with you or do you open a bottle and put it in the fridge. My hubby won't drink wine so it takes awhile for me to finish a bottle. Pinot Grigio is my new favorite.

How cute is that?! I love his little voice!

Very good Jake!! That is adorable. When Maggie was his age, she would count to ten really well, but would then skip right to "a hunnerd!" Now she does much better, but still skips 15.

Did you say wine or whine? LOL. I've told our family photographer who did our Christmas cards, that she should provide cocktails for moms during the sitting. Have a great day!

I am the same way about my wine. I knew it was bad when I was in the grocery store with my daughter, we walked past a wine display, she pointed and said, "Mommy's juice!"

Thank God nobody heard her.

Hilarious! You should post a video of him counting every day so we can see how quickly those are depleted.. ;) Although I bet he would just keep saying "9!"

We are wine lovers here, too. ;-) My intake is still limited while nursing the baby but my hubby enjoys a glass with dinner once in a while. I was making a grocery list a few months ago and Sarah was sitting on my lap. She saw a photo of wine in the Meijer Ad and said "Daddy's juice?" haha! Poor Daddy got the bad rap although Mommy just waits until they're all in bed if I have a glass. :-)

What's your favorite? Been up north to the wineries in TC or even south of you near Paw Paw? We used to make either place a yearly visit but have not been since I was just pg with the twins. Hopefully we'll get back there next summer. :-)

How cute!

I think there is something wrong with me. I don't like wine. I don't like coffee. But I do love my diet sodas!

Good counting Jake! (It WAS good counting too - he's only two!)

I like that "9 is not enough."

If I ever visit you, you'll have to get Jake to do an inventory after I've gone.

Only 9? I am severely disappointed in you. You should be better stocked...wait, so should I. I now need to add at least 3 bottles to the "grocery list".

Oh, you and me both! I love my nightly glass of wine!! Well, at least you'll always know when you're short on your stock of wine with your little helper keeping track of the number of bottles!! How cute!!
