Lets Go Swimming, Lets Go Swimming....

We all love to go swimming and play in the water. Well, most of us love the water and love to go swimming.
Jake is a little unsure of all things that have to do with the pool.

Usually while Hayden, Quinn and Claire are doing this

and this

and some more of this.

Jake is just happy enough doing this

and some times he will get brave enough to do this.

But if left to come into the pool on his own time and under his own will....

He will even do this

and come to realize that this is the best thing ever!

Sometimes, they just have to warm up to the fun:-)

Oh that is great fun being thrown by daddy. How funny that some kids just need a bit of assurance and will then join in.

Crack me up! Great post! ps - I love your swim suit - the top looks cumfy and functional (aka - kid friendly) like you wouldn't always have to be pulling on it and adjusting it as some swim tops go! :-)

Oh that looks fun! I was going to do a lot of swimming these Aussie Winter months to get the baby in a good position and to ease some aches and pains - the way things have turned out, I will just have to wait for Summer! By which time, you'll have snow.

My son Jack is cautious in the water like that. At age 5, we're just getting comfortable going under while Melody is already a little wannabe fish!

my jada is the exact same way...problem is it takes like 2 hours to get her moving and since there's no pool here, we don't get her in the water too much. poor kid! her new claim to fame..."i can move my feet in the water". hilarious!

love the pics...and when do we get to come and swim?

Love all of your little jumpers...even Jake who finally came around!!

He's just waiting for the water to warm up, mom! ;)

Sounds just like Maggie. Takes her own time determining when she will get in. Of course, then we have to drag her out of the water, with her teeth chattering and lips turning blue.

Great pics!

Great photo story about not pushing your kids. They usually come around!

We are all regular fish around here. But when Madalyn was learning how to swim...she was a little too adventerous for me...I wanted just a smidge of fear in her!

Awww, how fun! Each person in his (or her) own time.

Too fun! I had a cautious one on my hands at first but she is now getting better and can almost swim independently. Yeah!

So awesome. My Jake is a little hesitant with pools and water right off the bat. Usually takes him about 10 minutes to warm up to the idea and then he's in for hours!

I love it!

I haven't had the chance to get Jonathan in the water yet. maybe next week while we're on vacation. He loves to swim...almost too much. he tries to take off on me and swim away!

Maybe it will actually get warm enough to go swimming around here!

My 3 year old daughter is a little timid when it comes to the water...my 1 year old LOVES it! It's so funny how different they are!

Isn't it funny the way that works out? My most hesitant is turning out to be the biggest fish and now refuses to get out of the pool.

We do not have a pool, but my MIL does. Sarah is pretty hesitant of the water still and hates to be splashed...amazingly, she did pretty well when we went swimming a week or two ago but I could NOT let go of her or she'd freak. Towards the end of our swim though, she was willing to 'jump in' (holding my hands) and even 'swam' by herself to the ladder after a couple of jumps! I'm sure we'll swim again this weekend and I'm anxious to see how she does!!

Is that a public pool in GR? My Uncle used to manage one...can't remember the name though..

SO cute! They look like they all had a wonderful time (though it took some longer than others!)

I would like to borrow your weather. Today it was in the 60s. Ew.

My son is getting to that stage where he's afraid of water in areas bigger than the bathtub. Hopefully they both outgrow it!

I have NO idea how you can keep up with 4 kids in a pool at one time. I have enough trouble keeping up with my one toddler! Thank God my other 3 can swim pretty well or else... well... I guess I'd be one or two kids lighter, then.

JUST KIDDING.

But I would probably be a lot crazier and we'd just do the sprinkler a lot.
