Getting together with family and friends.
The food; Chocolate balls, Jelly Rolls, Pecan Tarts, Meatballs, Veggies and Dip, Jam Thumb prints. So many goodies to eat. So many inches on the waist to gain.
Leaving cookies and coke out for Santa. Oh and don't forget the carrots for the reindeer. (I love how Jeff 'nibbles' at each carrot to make it look like a reindeer ate it.)

Getting dressed up in your Christmas best. And taking that family Photo.

Lighting the Advent Wreath and reading the Christmas story. The birth of Jesus so long ago.
Opening presents, first thing in the morning. (Just look at my babies. Was that really only one year ago?)

The visit from Santa. Yes, that is right. On Santa's way back to the North Pole, he makes one last stop at our house. Some present were accidentally forgotten in the bottom of the sleigh. This is a fairly new tradition but it has to be one of my favorites. It is my sister-in-law's Dad that dresses up and comes to our house. The look on Hayden and Cole's (my nephew) face when Santa walks through the door, is priceless. They are so excited to see Santa, one last time.

These are the traditions that we as a family hold dear. These are the memories that we are creating. I want my kids to think about Christmas and smile not because of all the presents that they were given but because of all the little things, the traditions, that make this time of year so special. Its the family traditions that fill Christmas with wondre and excitement.

Oh that's gorgeous. I looked at that first picture wondering which of the babies that was ... HEY, that's HAYDEN! What a little cutie with his longer hair! (What a little cutie he is right NOW!)
Your photos are so cute.
My dad always dressed up like Santa when i was little for my cousins and myself. I loved that. How awesome to have Santa stop at your house. Thats cool.
Lovely family traditions!! Love the photos too.
Great pictures and I love your traditions. Hayden's face as he sits on the floor with the cookies, carrots and coke is absolutely priceless! I think it is so wonderful that you are making such an effort to bring lasting holiday memories to your children. I hope I can do the same for Sophie.
What great pics & memories! How cool that Santa gets to visit!
All of the photos made me smile - what an excellent post. It puts me in the holiday mood today for sure. :)
BTW, I love that you leave cookies and Coke instead of cookies and milk. Too funny. ha!

we do the cookies and carrots...and starbucks, of course. santa gets sooo sick of milk!
we also throw rocks on the roof for reindeer paws and the big guys comes inside for a few ho ho ho's.

Ahhhhhh...this was great! I love these traditions! Your kids are very lucky...and the photos are priceless. They all have that great "deer in the headlights" look! And how great that Santa makes an extra visit to your house ... that is the stuff of childhood magic!
The Coke with the cookies - makes complete sense!!
I love it. Maybe I'll leave out a Red Bull this year.
Smart lady you are.
Oh my goodness, the picture of the 3 babies lined up watching big brother open presents cracked me up!
Great recap of your traditions!
PS: I'm the one who nibbles on the carrots. :)
The pictures are darling. This time of year turns me into a big sap. I sit here thinking of how the memories are the one gift that doesn't clutter my house and is something not easily lost. Thanks for sharing your traditions with us.
What fun traditions. I cannot believe how big the kids look from last year. Enjoy your holidays with those that you love.
Merry Christmas!!!
Having a Santa stop by our family Christmas parties is one of my most favoritest Christmas memories.
What a difference a day makes, huh? Yesterday it was bahumbug and today it's Yippie, break on out the eggnog :)
Awesome pics girl!!!!! Funny, we leave a diet coke and Cape Cod potato chips for "Santa" cuz that's what Daddy likes to eat as he is putting Santa's presents under the tree Xmas eve.
It will be a fun Christmas morning in your house this year!! Love all of your traditions...the carrots for the reindeer are so cute. I think we will have to add that to our tradition list this year.
Sweet pictures and traditions! I wonder how it will go over when I suggest to the kids that they leave out nachos and a margarita for Santa this year. ;-)
i love reading about other people's christmas traditions. i really love the visit by santa! how special!!!
Just shocked to hear that the reindeers are not eating their carrots! Do they just get full everywhere else!
Yikes, that was close!
Great post though, have a great day!
What wonderful pictures of your family. Beautiful.
I feel like we've been ripping the reindeer off all these years. You've been giving them full size carrots and we've been giving them mini snack carrots. ;)
love the pictures! i totally pictured you with long hair. LOL!
I love those shots! I can't even begin to imagine how overwhelming that must have been (in a good way though)
The kiddies look adorable! and I am so happy that someone was able to get a great family picture!
