Aw, What a Sweet Little Girl?

This new behavior is quite something. It is all so new to me. This has got to be a girl thing, the boys don't really do this. I really have never seen anything like it before. I was told stories but I did not expect to see it this early. I was kind of hoping, we could just skip us all together.

I think this is what you call a temper-tantrum. Will some one please tell me that she will grow out of it soon.

Oh boy. She's mad! :) At least she throws herself back gently!

oh how I wish only the girl at my house threw tantrums. My boys do it with as much vigor as their sister. And then usually I throw one of my own because, well, it's how I cope.

"Is that all you got?"... whew, you are a brave woman! :)

Wait until she can talk... then you get to hear those lovely words, "I hate you!"

Or maybe that's just my kid.

Seriously? Wow. Both the girl and the boy at my place throw major tantrums - MAJOR - and they both started this behaviour at 8 months. My boy is becoming easier to manage now that he's 3 and a half.

That's about right. It's a girl thing for sure. Both my girls were/are huge drama queens. They do grow out of it but, sell your firearms and stock up on liquor. It is going to be a bumpy ride.

Thanks for the encouragement on my big fancy BATW day:-) Yeah me:-)

Oh, she's already a pro. I love how she makes sure she's not going to knock her head into something flailing about. I wish I could tell you that there is an end date, but my soon-to-be 10 year old still throws fits!!!

Grow out of it? Yes.

Soon? No.

Welcome to the next 2 years. 1 if you're lucky.

Oh Jen, I hate to tell ya, but with three daughters, I can tell you, there are many more where that came from. She will out grow this type of tantrum soon and find a "new and improved way of proving her point." I laugh at the study that says for every daughter you have it adds 7 years to your life and for every son it takes 7 from your life. Obviously they weren't taking the female tantrum into consideration of a mother's life expectancy.

I'm sorry... that's some funny stuff from across bloggy land... I know it's not much fun when you're in the same room...

Dottie hasn't morphed into the fit monster yet... I'm waiting for it though... she will strike when I least expect it....

If by soon you mean 18 years :)

I have to laugh as I see tantrums quite often in my house. Please stop by my blog. I gave you an award!

Awesome! And the answer is, NO!

At least not over here... yet... at age 3.5...

Glad I'm not alone!

girlfriend, that's a tame one. I love Susie's comment! You are smart to just let her get it out and not catering to it. HIT.

It was no fun for my oldest- the only tantrum thrower- when I would pick him up, carry him to another room, set him down, and leave. Or step over him and leave myself. It was short lived when it failed to produce a reaction from me- even in public.
Thanks for stopping by yeaterday as the BATW tour bus rolled through town.

Nah, I lied. I also have a TOTAL drama queen. Usually I just need to feed her some cheese or a piece of peanut butter toast- but I often forget....

Mommy-blogs, the best advertisement for contraception anywhere! :)

After all the cute photos, it was good to have some 'balance'.

Oh, this is still nice and mild - wait till the throwing of this start in addition. My hubby had a great plan - threw himself on the ground and did exactly what she did. That was the very last tantrum she threw.

I wish I had 5 bucks for everyone of those that I've seen! My boy and my girls! I'd take a nice fuss-free vacation somewhere :)

My advice - walk away (as long as you see they are safe). It worked for us. They would pitch their fit but after a while, realize they weren't getting any attention and quit.

We call it a "hissy-fit." The Wild One was a Hissy Girl--actually, QUEEN of the Hissy Girls--for many, many years. Fortunately, they grow out of it! BTW, thanks so much for dropping by to learn about the Wonders of Wisconsin! Isn't BATW great?

To those of you saying, "Just walk away", that's exactly what we usually do. Shooting a video is actually counter to our normal reaction. We just don't have the time to waste on this kind of behavior. She's obviously smart enough to keep from hurting herself, so we just leave her alone to get her frustration out. When she starts throwing things and finding other inventive ways to make her point, we'll just have to find a room without throwable objects. Maybe we'll have to set aside a stuffed animal room or somesuch.

LMAO! The funniest is you taping it for the blog. I thought she was going to pick up that tambourine and bean you with it.
