Good Times at Camp Henry

A few days ago we went to family camp at Camp Henry. This is a camp that is sponsored by our church.
For on week, our church reserves the camp and families of the church can go. Jeff went to family camp as a kid. He has very found memories of it and has always wanted to take our kids.
It is a week (or more accurately 4 days) of enjoying the great outdoors, spending time as a family, worshiping God, meeting new people, swimming, playing in the dirt, not having to cook or think about what to eat for 4 glorious days and getting more mosquitoes bites than I can count.
This was our first family vacation and the first extended trip that we took with the babies. Everything went amazingly well. The weather was great, everyone slept at night (expect me), everyone got very, very dirty, and really, really enjoyed themselves. Hayden is already asking, "When can we go back to camp?"
Going to camp is something that we are going to strive to do every summer as a family.
I decided that I am going to tell of our camp adventures in a couple of posts. Here are a few photos from our first afternoon at camp. One of the things that the older kids really enjoy playing is Four square. My kids were all very interested and liked to watch, well the baby boys wanted the ball. So a lot of our time was spent keeping the babies out of the middle of the Four square games.

Hayden. I have no idea what is going on in this picture but that is just Hayden.

You can see Four square going on in the back ground and the baby boys just longing to join in. One of the kids did bring a ball.

But he only brought one ball. Here is the fight for the ball.

Looks like Quinn won this round. Watch out Quinn, Jake is close.

No fair, older kid stepped in an gave Jake the advantage and the ball. Don't worry, Mommy found Quinn his own ball.

Here is Claire. Doing what she did best all week, finding the dirt. That little girl was the dirtiest thing ever, well not as dirty as Hayden.

Up next: Fun times in the lake.

I love the one of the boys fighting over the ball! If Tyler had been there he would have joined right in! Heaven forbid someone else have a ball they don't let him play with! It can even be on TV and he'll hold his hand out waiting to catch it! Looks like a great place!

Everybody looks so happy! What a fun camp. So, I have to ask, did you tent camp?

I went to a private Lutheran school from Kindergarten to 4th grade... one of the things the church/school did each summer was a camp like this. It was so much fun!

I love the line: "These are our stories from under the pile."

Karen,
NO! We did not stay in tents. I am crazy but I am not that crazy. We stayed in a cabin with 2 bedrooms that was shared with another family of 6. We had one side and they had the other. It was actually really good accommodation.
