Lets Bake: Caramel Apple Cheescake

It is fall (although this week it doesn't feel much like it). For some people, fall means getting more crafty and cozy but for me, it means getting more homey. That mean that I start baking like a crazy person. I just can get enough home made goodness.
I want to thank you all for the apple pie recipes and encouragement. I am not ready to try one yet, but soon. Hayden is still asking. But I did try this.
My sister asked for one thing for her birthday, a dessert. She said that her two favorites were apple pie and cheesecake. She asked for one or the other. I thought that I would do one better and see if they could be combined. So I went to Food Network's site and wouldn't you know that the goddess of all things country goodness, Paula Deen had just the recipe.

There are the ingredients that you will need.

First step is to pour apple pie filling onto a graham cracker crust. You can either use a pre-made pie crust, which was my intent but I forgot to buy one, or make your own. Which what I did.
Make sure that you save 3/4 cup of the filling for later.

Next, put eggs, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla in the mixer and blend them together.

When it all combined pour it over the apple pie filling in the crust.

Put it in the oven to bake.

Once the cheesecake is finished baking, let it cool to room temperature and then in a small sauce pan, combine reserved pie filling and caramel topping. Heat until combined, I mashed up the apples a little with the spoon but it will be lumpy.
Then pour over the cheese cake and decorate with the pecans.

Here is the finished dish. I highly recommend this recipe. It was really easy to make and oh so yummy. I don't know why it wouldn't be, it is a Paula Deen special.

Oh, how I love Paula Deen. Somehow I am going to get my sister introduced to her son Bobby... then Paula would be my mother-in-law! Well, not really, but I would still say that she was! HA!

This looks really yummy...

And about The Office...YES! It was great! Makes me wish every episode was an hour long!

OMGosh it was so funny... from Angela paging Dwight for a booty call, to Ryan coming back... and are Jim and Pam not the cutest?!?!?

This looks amazing! I tried to make something called "Caramel Apple Cheesecake" but it was much different. Anyway, it was a total flop, and the caramel sent many people to the dentist the next day. Oops!

That looks so yummy. Unfortunately, down here in TX, the days are still in the 90's. Isn't that sick? I'm thinking, I'm not going to like this weather. I've only worn jeans once this month and I was DYING in heat. Even capri's are tough to keep on for a whole day without getting sweaty. But I'll keep that recipe in mind when it finally cools off in, oh, January!

There are so many sweets that I just love. And I am quite thankful that I don't care for cheesecake. And so are my hips. Because if I had cheesecake AND peanut m&ms...it would be really frightening...

So I was home all day with just Grayson (Aaron and Aidan went camping overnight) and I decided to do some baking. I baked this cheesecake. It is fantastic. the only thing is that I am now home alone with an entire cheesecake. Maybe Aaron will get a piece...no guarentees.
