An Unexpected Night Out

So last night, Jeff and I had a night out, just the 2 of us. It was not planned but we were able to get away while my sister-in-law came over to watch the kids.
Where is we go? Where did we spend this 'lovely' evening together?
Not the movies, or a nice restaurant, I bet you can't guess... the Urgent Care Center. What? Really? Why?
Well, I tripped and fell yet again and hurt my ankle (yes, the same ankle that I hurt not one month ago.) This time when I fell, I knew it was much worse, possibly broken. So away we went, to the Urgent Care Center to get x-rays.
Here is my lovely ankle. No, I am not trying to smuggle golf balls.

This is the stupid toy that I tripped over. See how small and stupid it is. It is about twice a big as a quarter.

So this is how I ended up (yes, you have seen this before). The X-ray showed a possible fracture, the doctor couldn't tell for sure. I have to go see an orthopedic specialist at the end of the week to have him look at time. In the meantime, I am in a splint and on crutches. Which let me tell you, is most inconvenient and very frustrating to say the least.
Goodness, what next?

You are clumsy, girlfriend! I'm so sorry. I'm clumsy like you too, but so far no breaks (shit, knock on wood). I'm soooo sorry. I wish I could come help you out!!

I'm sure that's not a problem with the babies or anything...I hope you recover soon!

Oh goodness gracious. How are you holding up today? And how do you manage everything? Do you have help? I feel so bad!!!

Oh, my. I suppose your children will now learn to be self sufficient. And fetch things for you :-)

Poor Jen! This is just what you needed, huh? Hopefully its not fractured, just a bad sprain (that would be a faster recovery, wouldn't it?)

Maybe you can borrow Lula's little girl to help you out....

God bless your heart. What happens now is you get to enjoy graciously accepting the help of others, which if you're anything like me, will be harder to deal with than the break itself. Get well soon!

Oh, nooooooo! that goose egg made me cringe. I can't believe all that over a little toy. ugh. get well soon. (or don't, and milk it for all it's worth!)

If anyone needed a night out alone, you sure did! What a horrible way to spend your evening.

Darn kids and their toys... not that anything like that EVER happens over here. :)

We had that same toy, which always ended up all over the floor, and thus ended up in the trash!

Poor thing. Look at the bright side...well, I'm sure there's a bright side to this somewhere. Let me think about it and I'll get back to you.

What the what! The census is up at work you can't brake anything, what will we do with out you! Hope you feel better. The good thing is Hayden can get you things from the refridge while you are elevating you foot:)

Oh no! What terrible luck! Keeping my fingers crossed that its not broken. Btw - like the chair!

Good grief Jen!!! Tyler would love to play with your crutches! - He's a big fan of Grandma M.'s walker and cane! :-) I will pray for no fracture and a speedy recovery!!! Hang in there! :-)

ps - were your legs shaved? - My luck would be that would happen to me and I wouldn't have shaved for awhile - which I would be more worried about than weather it was truly broken or not (once I got over the pain of the fall) :-) So there I'd be, all broken and furry! :-)

to answer your questions:
-Jeff is a huge help, he took the day off of work today, we are working on the rest of the week.
-I would so LOVE to be a work helping out instead of being stuck here all gimpy.
-my legs are kind of shaved. I shaved them a couple days ago.

I sure hope that you get to do a do-over-date with your hubby. I am so sorry that you are hurt but hopefully it will all be a funny memory real soon.
It is so hard when mom is hurt or sick. But try to be kind to yourself during all this and not do too much.

Oh, Love, get better soon. :) And try not to be so clumsy!

that's HORRIBLE! I've had my own share of foot problems this summer, but never had to have crutches, thank goodness!!!! And I only have 1 really little one, not 3. My thoughts are with you! Speedy recoveries are in order.

Oh Jen! That's terrible. Do you want me to come and help? I'd been wondering why you'd been offline so much recently.

I swear that picture could have been of my hubby. He broke his tibia and fibula on May 12th. He has the same crutches and he also wore that fiberglass cast sticking out from under your bandages. He is still off work!!

Hopefully your recovery is quick. I also hope you have lots of hands to help you while you take it easy. On a side note: I just rid out our toy like that. The quacking, mooing, and oinking was SO annoying.

Seriously, I'm surprised you didn't trip over one of your 40 babies!!! You poor thing! And by the way, I'll have Aaron come by or I'll stop by after my Dr. appt for the pack and play! I'll give you a call!

First, I'm so sorry about your ankle. Next, Are you by chance and Aquarius? I'm not much into astrology but is rumored that we are prone to ankle injuries. I rolled a car once and was fine till I tried to get back to the road when I fell 10-15 feet into a concrete drainage ditch. It healed after a while, then it needed surgery later. Fortunately all pre-kids. I was selling Real Estate then and that wasn't helping me keep my business afloat. Still that is not dealing with an ankle injury with children. I wish I lived close. I would so be over to help.

I still love those chairs. They could make any ankle injury look stylish. I'm praying and hoping for a speedy recovery.

Oh No!!! You poor thing! Please take care of yourself...keeping my fingers crossed that you get good news at the orthopedic MD at the end of the week!!

I can't imagine being on crutches with triplets and a toddler... but at least it's not in the middle of one of our Michigan winters!

Hope you feel better soon.
