Memory Lane Monday: Napa Valley

A couple years ago, before we had children, Jeff and I took a lovely trip to Napa Valley, CA. We wanted to do some wine tasting and see the sights. It was so beautiful and a lot of fun but there was only one problem.
About 3 weeks before we were suppose to leave, I found out that I was pregnant. I was not suppose to be pregnant. I have infertility issues. The treatments that we were going through were not working so the doctors told us to take a break and we would begin again in a couple of months. I guess God had other plans.
We decided to still go on out trip. I did sip/taste some of the wine. Jeff finished what I could not and therefore, doesn't remember a lot of the trip. We only went to about 5 wineries before he just couldn't take any more.
It was a good trip expect travel seems to intensify the symptoms of early pregnancy. The air plane ride was torture because I began instantly nauseous the moment I stepped on the plane. And on the way back to the airport, I got so sick that I made Jeff pull over the car and I puked on a homeless person's blanket behind a gas station.
But besides all that, it was a good trip. It was really cool spending time together before we became parents. One big adventure we did, beside wine tasting, was a hot air balloon ride over the valley. It was amazing. It ended with a Champagne breakfast. The food was good, I could tell you about the champagne.

Wow - a hot air balloon ride. I think I'd pee my pants in fright.

I would love to ride in a hot air balloon... but not when I'm pregnant... which won't be an issue...

And I quote: "I puked on a homeless person's blanket behind a gas station. But besides all that, it was a good trip"... you crack me up!

I think I would enjoy a trip to Napa... maybe one of these days. But I won't be getting in a hot air balloon... it would take an excessive amount of wine to get me in one of those things!

Cool pics, though... how do you get them lined up that way? Or is that some feature in Picasa? I'd love to know how to do that...

Napa is beautiful...only a couple of hours away from us. I've never been in a hot air balloon, but I bet it is the coolest thing ever!

What a beautiful balloon! We see them all the time around here, now that we've moved up north of Dallas. I never saw them EVER in Austin.

I've really been wanting to go up in one though. And take the kids. Do you think that's ok?
