I Don't Want to Share!

This morning, my blogging time was cut short. It was not because the kids were screaming, or because I finally gave into the call of the dirty house or sink full of breakfast dishes. It was because of this...

"Mommy, I want to play the computer. Mommy, when I can I play the computer? Mommy, Pleeeeeeeease can I play the computer?"

He asked over and over again until I could not stand the whining and I gave in for the sake of sanity. You see, he just recently mastered the skill of playing the games on his own. He loves it.

So now, I have found the time to get things done. Hayden is engrossed in his game, the babies are playing or sleeping. I can tackle all my chores. But I don't want to do that. I want to play on the computer! I have e-mail to check, blogs to read and tweets to post. You know, important stuff.

On the other hand, maybe I could go and take a nap. The house will still be dirty when I get up, right!?!

This is why I like my iTouch. My oldest has finally mastered some of the NickJr games and wants to play them all the time.

That is very cool that Hayden can play computer games on his own. It always amazes me how fast kids learn!

Yep, I feel for you. I have to share mine with all three kids. Except for when they are at school.

And here I sit blogging, while the cleaning lady cleans my house. I am feeling spoiled, decadent, and a bit guilty.

It's great!

Your rest is infinitely more important that cleaning. I cannot stress that enough.

One house, four people, three computers (one's not connected to the internet) and do you know we STILL can't figure out how to get everyone enough time on the computer? If that's not a little pathetic....

I am thinking that more computers are a necessity at your place. We all have our own. But I apparently am blessed with traveling with my laptop. I don't have a home or an office. I do have an office. But everyone else has taken over there. I don't like to share!

Oh yes, my 5yo has mastered the cartoon network games of Ben 10. I love watching him click away like he's a mini version of his Dad.

How rude! Don't they know that computers are for Mommy's?!? My son keeps wanting to watch his videos, which is cutting into my precious blogging time too. Why can't they just be happy watching tv like we did when were kids. :)

That's funny!

Since my hubby is a computer guy he took a really old laptop and set it up for our little boy. He doesn't use it much yet, but then again he's only two!

I vote for the nap!!! Mommy's never get enough sleep. NEVER!

We don't have that problem because if my youngest wants to play on the computer, she plays on Daddy's. We have like 9 computers in this house:-)

I am very excited for the day when my daughter can entertain herself. The good news is that we have two computers, so I could plop her down at one and go about my blog/email/internet business. A nap sounds delightful, though.

The kids have their own computer. It's easier that way...

I hate sharing my computer. I love to share my LOVE of the computer, but just not share the actual thing. lol

We have a few computers in our household, thank god.

So cute and funny!!!! When my daughter comes home every other weekend I pretty much have no computer time. Which I guess is okay, cuz then I get time to do other things. :-)

A nap sounds really good right now.

We have 3 computers and I still get little beggars at my door asking for time on my computer. ;-)

Hi! I found your blog via Happy Meals and Happy Hour. I have a computer loving 8 year old Hayden! It's amazing how much they know about computers...ALREADY! Hayden just asked me this evening if HE could have a blog..um..NO! :)

Oh that happens to me too! If it's not THIS:

then it's THIS:

Sorry about that last one. It's pretty topical at our house though. Sonny Ma-Jiminy doesn't see it as funny - it's just the facts as they are.

Thanks for coming by my blog from SITS today!

I know what you mean about computer sharing. Until the Big Guy got me my wireless connection, we had to share his computer and he did NOT like that at ALL!

And this is why a laptop is on my Christmas wish list.

Actually, my 7 year old wants her own laptop... 'cause Mommy is always on the computer, she says.

I say, if anyone in this family is getting their own laptop, its gonna be ME!

New rule 1 minute of house cleaning earns you 1 minute of computer gaming time. this way your sacrifice is not in vain.

Kelly said...

First of all, isn't amazing how fast kids learn how to manuever the computer?!
My kids hog the computer also...our solution was getting a "Mommy/Daddy laptop" - the kids aren't allowed to touch it.

Yep, I haven't introduced the girls to the power of the computer yet for this very reason! It looks like a nice way to keep Hayden entertained thought:)

so funny - and so heard in my house!! My son told me the other day - mom I need a laptop for myself! My response, well, get a job!

*sigh* It's so hard to share!

do you think if you said "Hayden I wanna blog, Hayden when can I blog, Hayden Pleeeease can I blog?" he'd share too?

I have to share with my 4 year old all the time these days. I hate it! I'm thinking of getting me a new laptop and giving him my old one for Christmas. Not because I'm a kind generous mom, but because I don't want to share anymore! Horrible of me, isn't it.
