A couple weekends ago, Jeff and I got to get away with some friends for the weekend. The WHOLE weekend!
It was 2 glorious nights and days of kid free living. No schedules, no bath time, no bed time routines, no picking up toys, no Mommy I needed you, no Daddy will you play with me?
Just pure adult fun. Did I mention that is was a wine tasting weekend?
(My liver sure knows this well)
We lived it up. We ate dinner at 9pm instead of going to bed, we danced to Neil Diamond instead of Laurie Berkner, we walked lazily down the street instead of hurrying in and out of stores, we had actual conversations and we had wine before noon and after noon.

We enjoyed good food, good drinks and good friends.

And best of all, we enjoyed picture perfect weather, scenery only written about in poetry and the fall color that nature could muster.

Beautiful pictures.
I have got to visit Michigan someday.
Wow!
Looks like a great time. When your LFT's are down, let me know, and we'll have a virtual glass of wine together, okay?
Wow, that sounds like so much fun! I need a weekend away so badly. And wine. Lots and lots of wine.
Oh I think we are in serious need of that.

I love weekends away. I am thinking that I need to plan one. But I always have to make it a surprise because my husband never willingly spends money :-)

I love weekends away without kids. We have had one in 7 years. I'm thinking after looking at your pictures and how happy and relaxed you all look, that maybe we should do it a little more ofter than we do.
We should totally hang out with a big box of wine. But I don't think I'm anywhere near the center of the north pole and the equator...I'm just sitting here in Butthole, PA. :)
I hope you enjoyed your fun weekend!
Over from WW. Looks like so much fun. I might have to suggest this kind of weekend to my hubby and friends. Wine, good. Friends, good. Dancing, good. Being lazy, good!!!
Oh wow! Sounds and looks just GLORIOUS!
I am absolutely GREEN! What a fantastic get-away!
Happy WW!
What a fantatic weekend. Enjoying a glass (or 3) of wine and the beuaty of fall. Can't think anything better.
HooRay for time to be alone without kids!
Good for you guys!
Have a great day!
and I bet you thought about the children every minute you were gone . . .
I was sold at the word WINE. How fun for you to get time away and enjoy a weekend with friends and WINE.
Jen - we have been up to wine country on Old Mission Pen many a time and I LOVE it up there. It is absolutely gorgeous any time of the year. I am hoping you made it to Chateau Chantal as it is the most beautiful winery of them all up there...
First of all-congrats! Getting away is so needed!
And second....are you really that much taller than your husband? Because my baby brother is short and madly in love with a girl who is REALLY tall and so he won't even pursue it even though they have been friends forever.
So great that you and Jeff were able to escape for an adult weekend. The pictures are gorgeous!! It looks like you all enjoyed yourselves immensely!!
That sounds like heaven!!! But, I'll admit, I do love me some Laurie Berkner, even when the kids aren't around :)
