Do you know what you are looking at?
These are 'My Little Ponies'.
Do you know where these ponies came from?
They were the toy in a Happy Meal at McDonald's.
These ponies just happen to be his favorite toy at the moment. They go everywhere with him. Heaven help, the baby that grabs one of the ponies that he so carelessly, I mean so lovingly placed on the floor.
If you ask Hayden, these are the best thing that he got for Christmas, only he didn't get them for Christmas. He got them over a period of time, like 4 days. (Kidding, I am kidding. We don't eat McDonald's that often.)
When he could bring a toy into school to show to all his friend.
These are the toys that he took.
Oh yeah, he likes the other toys that he got for Christmas like the Leapster2 and the Smart Cycle.
But he pride and joy is these ponies.
What does he like to do with these ponies, you ask?
Freeze them and then wash their hair.
I just don't get it.
And sometimes I wonder, should I be worried?

That is what I am Wordful about on this Wednesday. Go see who else has something to say.

No worries here. My 2 year old loves nothing more than dressing up like a princess ...
Worried me? Nah.
Is his father worried? Yep sure!
He freezes them? What? Too funny.
I wouldn't worry. He's being himself. That's what is important. Try not to fret. I love the ponies...and I would eat McDonald's every day. In fact I did just recently...like about a year ago...when they had Kung Fu toys in their happy meals. LOLOL
Come on over and visit with me and my very wordful Wednesday post...I just couldn't stop shivering this morning....errrrr, ummmm, chat-at-at-chatting away!!!
ROFL I get the appeal, I mean, they're horses, they're colorful...
On the other hand, my boys get very upset if they end up with the "girl" Happy Meal toy. They usually chuck it at me.
When my nephew comes over to play with the girls, he doesn't bring any of his own toys over. So of course, the only thing here to play with are girl toys (he's the one dressed in the princess costume I posted about months ago... did you ever see that pic?) Anyway... one thing he loves to play with is the collection of Littlest Pet Shop animals my girls have.
What do you think his aunt (me) got him for his bday? BWAHAHAHAHA!
it depends... is he 15? oh, just kidding. be glad he's so easy to please!
Too cute! Both of my boys prefer to play with my daughters toys. I am just enjoying the time that they like "cheap" toys because in no time, it will be video game systems that cost $200-$500. Ugh.
Hey, Aidan's favorite color is still pink! Good times
I noticed the hair on the ponies first, wondering what happened to them. But the washing them makes sense, not sure about the freezing of them?
(Sorry I haven't comented in forever!)
Feisty
So, does he wash their hair, and then freeze them? lol. Silly kiddo.
I'm dying here. Over the period of 4 days slayed me. I wouldn't be worried. My boys will do anything to get their hands on some lipstick. I tell myself it's all going to be OK..........:)
AND.........18th? 18th? How did that happen? :)
why does he freeze them first?
My girls never really got into the ponies. But we did have a My little pony matching game. All those pink ponies look the same. And then my kids would correct me. No, that one has a flower. No that one has a bow...
And who knows why kids fixate on certain toys.
Ok, the fact that he freezes them is the best.... such a boy thing isn't it?! You have nothing to worry about. Just enjoy it all!
AJ got a pony in his happymeal too. I told them boy prize and they gave me the girl prize. I was going to go back in and exchange it but he wouldn't let me. He likes to brush the hair with the little pink comb. Hubby hasn't seen it yet.
That is really cute! My sister's boys like to carry purses around the house with all of their cars in them. It always cracks me up when they come around the corner with a pink sparkly purse on their shoulder.
I was thinking, hmm, and then read the part about freezing. That, my dear Jen, is ALL boy.
Kids are so strange.. freezing the ponies is classic.
we have those all over our house as well
Phu wanted to be Snow White for the longest time, when Halloween came around it was torture not to dress him up as his favorite Princess just to get Dummy's macho goat.
And, yes, freezing?? ALL BOY.
NO WAY! They give them in happy meals? I collected them when I was a kid! I never tried freezing them though... :)
i LOVED my little ponies when i was little...in fact, i think i may even still have a few!
Oh My God! This is sooooo funny! I'm sure you are worried but I'm sure it won't last long. But darn those kids...you get them these expensive cool toys and then they fixate on a Happy Meal toy! So funny! I just totally died laughing at this post.
Elizabeth is also obsessed with those little ponies. But I'm sure if I bought her a real one from the store, she would care less about it. It's just something about the toys that come out of a box full of fries and nuggets that make it special.
LOL! Emma loves her ponies that she has gotten too.
Too cute that he likes them too :)
Happy WW!
we are breeding my little ponies, i'm sure of it! do they just multiply when you put them in the same toy bin?
Oo that's funny! You know he may just like the bright colors. And then again, I LOVED my little ponies and thought they were the most awesome thing from the late 80s early 90s.
I gave you an award over at my place, if you're into that sort of thing!
Oh this is too funny! Little boys and their ponies...nope nothing at all to worry about. Now if he can tell you the exact color they are, and starts dressing like them...then you should be worried! LOL!
Oh yeah, Wee One loves my shoes. He will walk around happily in my shoes for hours.
He would totally dig the pretty ponies too.
Oh, how funny! My little girl has finally abandoned her racetrack for the Littlest Pet Shop. Whew! :)
thats is just too funny!!
never heard of freezing them -but hey, creative imagination! :)
What an adorable story. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Maybe it's the fact that it's a pony... all kids love horses!
We have so many ponies floating around the house, it's crazy. Thankfully, they come in handy as pets for Barbies and Clydesdale(sp?) equivalents for Polly Pockets.
So...freezes them? Like puts them in the freezer?
I wouldn't worry. It's a perfectly natural.
thats the first i have heard of freeze and wash ponies , but i wouldn't worry if it doesn't phase anyone then he will probably out grow it.
No, you shouldn't be worried! You are producing a good little brother who won't have to be forced to play with his big sisters LOL
That is cute!!! Don't worry, my son carried around one of my old purses for a long time when he was 4. He out grew it and the same will happen. It is so cute!!!
Playing with my little ponies should not worry you unless he is still doing it in a few years. Freezing them? Hmm...don't know about that!
My oldest freezes stuff all the time. Toys, included. I don't see the interest there, but whatever.
That is too funny!
My MLP from when I was a kid are still at my parents' house. I know that all my neices and nephews played with them. No worries!
Too funny that he freezes them! I wouldn't worry at all.
Don't worry. It always make me laugh what my children's favorite thing of the moment is and how quickly it can change.
He freezes them? hahahahahahha SO funny!! I love it and had NO clue you could get those from a happy meal. I just may need to swing by for one! lol
~melody~
LOL Almond Eyes has lots of My little Ponies! Havn't tried freezing them & washing their hair. Do tyhey do something cool when they get frozen?
I am just wondering if all my little ponies end up in the bathtub, cause I thought it was just at my house.
nah! don't worry. he will make a great daddy one day!!
Kids always love the toys from McDonalds. I always throw the toys from McDonalds out. The kids ask where the McDonalds toys went, and I always answer that I just don't know.
That is too hilarious to me because my son, just TODAY trotted around with five of "his sister's" little ponies from McD's! He loves them, and puts them in his barn, and lines them up, etc. So perhaps we shouldn't let them play together....THAT would be funny....two boys fighting over my little girly ponies!
They have my little ponies at McDonalds? Where have I been????
Good for him! I don't blame hime for liking them--they're colorful and cute!
He and Pickle would get along great--she got one at McD's a couple weeks ago and loves it! She calls it "hair horse."
Every heard of "Bitch" magazine? It is a feminist magazine that my sister subscribes to and then passing on to me. They write about Pop culture with a feminist spin so it is pretty entertaining.
One time they had an article about the look of my little pony. They wrote about how sexual looking the ponies are with their big doe eyes, large round behind, and flirty poses.
So the moral to my comment.....loving these ponies means your son is hot for the ladies. :)
