Making Monster Cookies

One special thing that Hayden and I like to do together is bake. Now I am not the greatest baker but there are a few things that I can make, like banana bread, pie and cookies. All with Hayden's help, of course.

Our favorite cookies to make together are Monster Cookies. We just love these cookies. They have a little bit of this and a little bit of that and there is lots of things for little hands to help with.

Put the butter, sugar, eggs and peanut butter together,

and mix baby mix.

Make sure that you taste it.
Isn't that the best part of baking, a sample here and a sample there?

When it is all mixed together, you put it in the oven to bake.
Yummy, warm Monster cookies.

Monster Cookies

* 3 eggs
* 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
* 1 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1 12-ounce jar creamy peanut butter
* 1 stick butter, softened
* 1 cup multi-colored chocolate candies
* 1cup chocolate chips
* 1cup raisins
* 2 teaspoons baking soda
* 3 cups quick-cooking oatmeal
* 1 1/2 cups Flour

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

In a very large mixing bowl, combine the eggs and sugars. Mix well. Add the salt, vanilla, peanut butter, and butter. Mix well. Stir in the chocolate candies, chocolate chips, raisins, baking soda, and oatmeal. Drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Let stand for about 3 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool. When cool, store in large resealable plastic bags.

Now during this particular cookie baking time, Jacob was very interested in what Hayden and I were doing. He was watching very carefully.
And it turns out this is why.
He opened the drawer, climbed in and by doing so was just tall enough to grab some cookies from the racks they were cooling on. I understand little guy, sometimes you just need a cookie or two.

YUM! Seriously, now you don't even need cribs for the babies...drawers! What a fantastic idea! I bet they have something like that for triplets at IKEA!

That's great that you cook with your kids! I don't have enough counter space...or at least that's what I tell myself. And, Elizabeth will not stop shoving ingredients in her mouth.

Wee One loves to "bake" with grandma. She lets him stir, he's the happiest boy in the world. It's too freaking cute.
