Yet Another Jay and Deb Production.
For this Tuesday's Tribute, I am going to bring you a very heart felt tribute to the best time of day. Bedtime. No not my bedtime, now don't get me wrong I love my bedtime but the bedtime that I love even more than mine is that of my kids.
I am very lucky that I can stay at home and also get out to work a couple of days a week. By having this, it gets me out of the house and gives me a break from the kids. But after a long, crazy day at home with the kids there is nothing more peaceful then bedtime.
After all the bathes are done, the toys are picked up, jammies are on, the dishes are washed, bottles drunk, it is time for bed. And it is time for me to bask in the silence that is kids sleeping.
There is no more calls for mommy. No more fighting over a cup that has apple juice in it just like the other 2 laying on the floor. There is no more dancing on the dinning room table. There is no more emptying out the trash cans or flushing toys down the toilet. There is no more climbing on anything and everything. There is no more yelling, 'don't touch that' or 'get that out of your mouth'. There is no more toy throwing. There is not more jumping off the stairs. There is no more screaming and best of all there is no more crying.
There is just quiet. Just pure blissful silence. Time to crack open the bottle of wine, time to do something I like to do, time to remember that yes, I really do love and adore my children and time to just sit and breathe.

I won't be surprised to hear that bedtime is many parents favorite time... I know it's mine!!
BTW - PLEASE have a glass or two of wine for me. It's the one vice I truly miss right now... 18 weeks til Cabernet time!
I hear ya. Bedtime is so nice. Quiet kids, quiet house. Peacefulness alone time. LOVE it.
amen, sister... AMEN! even at 12 and 15, i love it when they are both finally asleep!
I sing the same tune!!
Oh yes, I so agree!
I know exactly what you mean. I'm so blessed that my kids go to bed peacefully, without a battle. 8:30pm rolls around, and they all know it's bedtime (on school nights, anyway).
Love the picture montage. Adorable.
Even if you just have one... bedtime is a hard time to beat :) I'm loving me some bed time too :)
Amen! 8:30pm is my favorite time of the day for the exact same reason!!!
I love bedtime. My oldest keeps telling me that 8:30 is way too early for an 11 year old to go to bed. And she does not quite get my response - which is "bedtime is for me. Not for you."
I feel that way with just one...I can't imagine the depression that occurs when four get put down.
I am right there with 'ya. Cheers!
ha -love this - all my friends think I am crazy for putting my kids to bed so early - everyone knows DO NOT call my house after 7 PM - or I will go all crazy momma if you wake my babies! The Seven PM Silence in our house!
What a fun collage. I love your colorful touches!! Your kids are so darn cute!
Yep, my favorite time, too. Sometimes I feel a little guilty for liking it so much, but don't worry, I quickly come to my senses.
Ahhhh. That is blissful! Here's to bedtimes!!
i am reading this at the second best time of the day...naptime
I ♥ bedtime.
Without that little bit of time to unwind I would go bonkers.
I hear ya! Been there done that and am love'n bed time yet!
Amen Sister!
My girls are 10 and 13 and I still enjoy bedtime. Sometimes when they stay up late I tell them that the constant chatter must stop at 9:00!
My ears need a break at some point!
I love bedtime too. I think that is why unless there is a natural disaster the kiddos are in their rooms at 8pm. After that they are on my time and I am not a very nice person then.
Ditto! I agree whole-heartedly! Sleeping children are just too precious. :)
Oh, Now this is what a tribute post SHOULD be. I love bedtime. I usually call it Hubby and Me Time! But great post!
I don't think I've mentioned this - but I love your header!
Bedtime - I love how cute my little girl looks in her bed, snuggled with her bear, her frog, and her paci!
Sometimes it takes the viewing of your sleeping, silent child to remember just how cute and lovable they are.
How long until 8 o'clock!?!?
A-freaking-men. Bedtime is indeed the best time of the day. I usually wind up staying up until midnight or later and I think it is because I love those quiet hours so much.
Right there with ya! Naptime and bedtime. Next to I love you, they are the nicest words I whisper to my son. And I am so lucky that he loves to go "Na-nigh". The nights when he walks himself into his bedroom and asks to be put to bed...priceless!
I CAN imagine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad you get that time for yourself. It's a must!!!!! I love the mosaic. Nicely done!
love that stinking picnik!!! and those little faces always melt my hearts...especially when they are going to sleep!
Oh my gosh. I LOVE Bedtime! Its when I get to be Jo-Jo instead of mommy.
i love the pictures! so cute!! bedtime is the best - even when they get older :)
When my kids were this age, bedtime was my FAVORITE time! These are such sweet pixes!!
oh ya... I'm not ashamed to admit it!!! Bedtime and naptime is AWESOME! i love my lil guy, but i very much look forward to those times :)
Let's hear it for bedtime!! I love that time of the day/night :). Great pics btw!
Aww, bedtime, peace and quiet is a wonderful thing.
Oh I hear you and second that tribute! Here's to the bedtime for the kids! It is the best part of the day!
Oh YES, Jen...you nailed it.
but in the process, you stole one of my future posts, and yours was so much better...
What time is lights out? We have our kids down at 7pm, so Daddy can have his Daddy time. INVALUABLE.
Great Tuesday's Tribute! Hope to see you again next week!
Jay
I totally agree w/ you--love the kids, but love the bedtime too!
Cool pics with the B&W and then color to high-light the faces! Nice touch!
ahhhhhhhhh yes..... that is a wonderful time of day.......
I'm a big fan of bedtime also... but I don't wait for the kids to be in bed to crack open that bottle of wine....
This is partly why I am such a night owl. Even though I;m home during the day while the kids are at school... I'm busy doing laundry, dishes, etc.
At night, after the girls and Shane have gone to bed... the house is blissfully quiet. I feel that is when its MY time... I can do whatever I want!
