Quinn's Big Idea

Every night we eat dinner, much like you, I am guessing. As food becomes ready, I bring it to the table and dish it out on the babies trays to cool.

Waiting for the food to cool is not something that the babies are good at. They are constantly tying to reach up onto the trays to steal a nibble or two.

On this night, Quinn had a plan. He wasn't going to wait.

He pulled the high chair out, pulled the chair close to the food and started sampling. To make matters worse, this is not even his highchair. It's Jake's.

Doesn't that look just say, Guilty!

After he saw me see his not so sneaky trick, he turned around and started rocking on the chair. As if to say, 'see mom I was just playing'.

Sorry you have to wait kid, but I am working as fast as I can.

I wonder who else is Wordful Today?

The food-cooling can take so long! But look at what he's eating! Looks like mighty healthy stuff from here. What a lovely kid, to be that desperate to chow down some veggies?!

I am constantly asking KiKi to sit down because I have nightmares of her rocking the chair and falling out. I did this when I was 2 years old and broke my collarbone. It must be deep seeded fear I have now.

Love it!

Isn't it great to be at the stage where they can feed themselves?

Well there's some ingenuity for ya. :)

Quinn, sit down! He is making me nervous with that rocking. heh.

Your kiddos still must be more patient than Delia. I strap her into her highchair, and I end up putting her plate of food in the fridge to cool faster while she munches impatiently on cheerios. ha!

I can't imagine fixing dinner for more than one, our son Caleb has the hardest time waiting to eat. I liken it to eating a Big Mac infront of someone whos been on a diet since the day they were born! He almost falls apart before he can wrap his mouth around what ever the "oh so gormet" meal is that I happen to be fixing :( Sometimes its just tough being a little one!

The look on his face...pure, priceless guilt. I LOVE IT!!!

I do the same thing, but I have a little assembly line going on the kitchen counter. That way, they can't even see it and aren't tempted to steal!

That cute little face looks so quilty.

Little stinker. Love it!

I can almost hear him whistling.

Nothing to see here, nope, nothing.

Too funny! How smart to steal off your brothers tray. He'll get half a meal while you get your own plus half of his! :) I'm not saying you actually let that happen, I'm just saying the thought behind it may be genius! :)

I know how you feel...THE MOMENT I step in the kitchen the little ones start screaming to the rest "it's time to eat!!!" I HAVEN'T EVEN STARTED COOKING YET!!

Peanut LOVES the EasyMac bowls but they are so hot when they're done, I actually have to cool it in the freezer.

And don't you love when you catch them in the act???

hehehe You caught him. Smart little bugger.

I still put my kids and husband in high chairs, how did you know?!

Oh he knows he was bad, too funny! Sophie has a little dolly stroller that she pushes around. I kept wondering how she was getting things off of desks and stuff and then I realized she was pushing the stroller up to it, climbing up on the stroller and grabbing whatever she wanted.

Hey I can sympathize with the kids. Waiting is the hardest part for me because I just want the whining to stop! Cute picture!

Michelle said...

LOL! I kind of hate waiting for my food to cool too!

OH, that's totally cute! And you better believe he's got on a guilty face...but an awfully cute one.

Just tonight at dinner... I called the girls to come to the table. When she got there, the youngest was all "I thought you said dinner was ready!"

"It is", I said...

"Then how come it's not on the table? I'm starving over here!"

Sheesh.
